Called to ask for help for my adult son who struggles with anxiety and depression! I felt the lady who called me back was very blunt. (Considering this was our first call for help) As I am the voice for my son who would struggle with speaking and said that they couldn’t help as he would need to talk.. no compassion that in time, with being a familiar voice or face he might actually engage and start to help feel better about himself.

*Replying to the Black Country mental health*

My son was sitting next to me listening to all the conversation. (Trying to engage) You really do not realise how much of a huge step that was for him..He now feels there's no help and he a burden!Yes you did explain where another service he could go too...but you was very sharp and showed no kindness!!

A very supportive service for mental health and well-being needs. I worked with the service and felt they were really motivated at doing their best for you wanting help and wanting to help others improve their mental health.

I look forward to working with the organisation again, and recommend The Black Country Mental Health service for those living in the Black Country area.

10 stars very well run organisation it's amazing what the charity achieves on such a small budget the staff and volunteers are all very caring and supportive in any mental health crisis. And it's ongoing support for as long as needed. I have been a frequent visitor over the past 5 years and made some nice friends in the peer support groups with like-minded people that understand and don't judge you on a bad day. on occasions the group will go out for a meal or drink which helps build greater confidence outside the group. The groups are mixed and there is no pressure to attend every week people drop in and out as they please but the majority of people are regular visitors you can talk openly without judgement share your experience of mental health with people that understand and learn how other people manage their mental health. It's great to see so many men attending the groups since the Pandemic. Over the past 5-years I've seen a lot of people attend the groups from businessman doctors office workers mental health can affect anyone I never thought it would happen to me but it did the biggest turning point in my life was to pick up the phone and get the support I needed.

I have been a member of BCMH a long time .
First of all no one judges you .
The staff are really nice and listen to you .I’ve not heard a bad word about them .
You can always get through on the phone line .
In 2021 I ran the London Marathon for them and did the midnight walk with them .
I plan to run again for them so they can help others like myself
Keep up the good work xx

It seems like they've deleted my review which had over 10 likes so I'll post it again.

Called up just before Christmas to see if they could help with my loneliness and was on hold for 40 minutes before I hung up Called a few days later and was on hold for 25 minutes before someone finally answered.

Explained my situation and this guy and he told me about this open drop in session every Sunday 7-9pm. He then proceeded to interrogate me why I wanted to attended and I replied with that I wanted to meet and chat with new people and also hopefully build up my confidence. He asked why I wanted to attend 2-3 more times and I didn't know what else I could say, so I asked if I could speak to someone else. Passed onto Sandra who confirmed the event was a 7-9pm every Sunday. She wasn't really that helpful as she refused to answer any of my questions like roughly how many would be there and if any drinks are provided.

A few weeks later I finally decide to attend one and called up to double check to see if the event is still on-going. Sandra tells me that the event never took place during 7-9 but instead takes place at 3-5pm. Its almost 5pm so I've missed the session.

It seems like they're only in it for the pay check.

Black Country Mental Health (previously Dudley Mind) are a fantastic organisation. The support they give to people and their families who are affected by mental health is outstanding. They are my chosen charity to support, which I have done personally and through my place of work, Saz’s Ceramics & Crafts. I have met Sandra Vaughan and Dave Tyler on several occasions now, and they really are passionate about what BCMH do and what they represent. Top marks BCMH!!
