Came to heartland hospital emergency service (Adult minor department) and had a horrible experiences for long waiting. Staffs are laughing, talking unnecessary loudly each other. Patients are waiting and some are sleepy. This is not acceptable at all for an emergency treatment area for long waiting. Should be more faster as only 1/2 staff providing service.

Brought here by emergency ambulance having collapsed when attempting to collect my car following a holiday to Cyprus. Yes I had to wait in the ambulance whilst a bed could be found for me but triaging patients at busy times is only sensible. I was taken to Cohort ward and overall was in the hospital for 17 hours or so. The staff were brilliant. I had a thorough MOT with X Rays, CT scans etc. I was really impressed with the effort they made including the Dr in outpatients who explained in great detail what had caused my collapse and then changing my medication.
Absolutely brilliant

An excellent hospital. Naturally, it has issues, but largely due to the patients in A&E. Staff are hard working, knowledgeable, and very friendly. Wards are clean and well cared for. Food is never less than eatable and sometimes delicious. I can not thank staff enough for the care that I, as well as other members of my family, have received over the years.

Service is poor, continuity of care is worse. Horror stories you hear are true. If you want someone to die then definitely bring them here. Infection control is disgusting. They let various visitors in. Noone really cares who is coming and whether they are following the Infection control policy. The rooms/wards are not clean regularly. The room my mother was in had blood and vomit 2 days in a row. The nurses lie (I asked if my mothers bandage was changed, she said yes the nurse came at night and did it. When I looked at the bandage, it was the same one from 2 days ago. I know as it was the same bandage as it was the one I bought from home. My mother hasn't opened her bowels in 4 days. I asked the nurse if she was prescribed laxatives who replied yes I will give it later. The next day my mothers stomach looked more bloated. I asked the nurse on shift that day about the laxatives who stated she has not been prescribed any and was not given any last night). How appalling is this that I overheard the nurse the night before saying she hasn't opened her bowels for 4 days and that I had to ask for laxatives. Shouldn't it have been something they should have asked for. The consultants/doctors avoid you. There are no plans given to the nurses because the consultants are to busy dealing with emergency patients. They only give you the time of day when you are an emergency. Like they eventually did when my mother was on her death bed. Spending unnecessary time with us. Showing fake empathy. I had to tell them to stop wasting unnecessary time now with us and to deal with someone who actually needed them. Surprisingly everyone seemed to be available when my mother was dying. She ended up dying with sepsis which the consultant himself said it probably happened when she had the tubes and all the lines put it. That's how disgraceful this hospital is. I bet they wouldn't treat their own relatives here unless of course they wanted them to die. At one point I asked the doctor to have my mother transferred to another hospital. Oh you should have seen her face and attitude. She passed us on to the manipulative consultant to talk us out of it. All the other relatives of the patients felt the same way. Consultant that was dealing with my mother took a call and was discussing another patient in front of us. How unprofessional. By this patient's relatives were also not happy with their care and seeked a second opinion. They wanted all there records who the consultant was saying he didn't want to give as they had to have the patients consent. Just seemed like they were avoiding giving the records as they had something to hide. DR DAN PARK AND DR ANAND, BOTH ARE PATHETIC TIME WASTERS.

I had to go for a skin prick appointment. Only for the receptionist and other staff had me going here going there i have never been to heartlands hospital before. I'm not happy with the messing about its the receptionist who was very unhelpful she knew where I had to go because she looked at my appointment letter she just couldn't be bothered to help me in the right direction. Luckily a lovely nurse followed me to the department I had to go. The nurse who did my skin prick and blood test was amazing. I don't think I'll be coming back to heartlands hospital anytime soon. I'll stick to a hospital near me. I only took this hospital appointment because I've been waiting ages for the allergy clinic.

Worst Birmingham hospital. Had to visit A&E early morning and was seen by a nurse who while asking questions from us was continually arguing with her fellow nurse. They discharged me forcefully while I was suffering from the exact amount of pain and told me to rest. I later had to call an ambulance who took me to Warwick hospital, who are thankfully compassionate enough to take me seriously and helped me feel better.

University hospitals Birmingham are awful, Good Hope hospital is more like NO HOPE HOSPITAL and Heartlands hospital should most definitely be call HEARTLESS HOSPITAL!!!!

After a 10 months wait to see a consultant and then having a scan on my kidneys to what the lumps are, I’ve now been waiting for my results. I’ve telephoned on a number of occasions but the won’t give me my results and I have to wait for an appointment for a doctor to speak to me.

I did have an appointment but they cancelled it and not given me another one.

I’ve spoken to PAL’s and made an official complaint but they haven’t responded and still no results.

It’s now been 6 weeks since my scan and this is beyond a joke.

It’s my brothers funeral next week, he died late last month after getting cancer which started in his kidney. I explained this to the hospital and expressed my concerns but they just don’t care.

The people responsible for these hospitals should hang their heads in shame.

It is understandable why this hospital has received a low rating. The medical professionals employed here are unreliable and excessively loud, even going so far as to laugh about not providing patients with water. One nurse, who was overweight, made an inappropriate comment about being busy from 10am to 10pm doing nothing but eating. During my visit, there was only one doctor available for all of the buildings, which resulted in excessively long wait times without any communication from the staff. Patients were simply moved from ward to ward without any explanation of where they were going or why. The only decent nurse was alvan I believe his name was and that's because he'd contact the doctor foe us without making us feel like a burden. So the best medical professional is doing the bare minimum.
