Switched from a different GP practice to this one when I moved house and wow! What a difference! Fantastic GP practice. Super easy to get hold of, never ever had an issue getting an appointment or a request sorted in an extremely timely manner. Staff all very friendly, doing incredibly well despite the massive pressures faced by primary care and NHS services. Would definitely recommend.

Very poor service consistently offered up. Latest example - The practice cancelled our baby's third set of vaccinations. They sent a text to let me know so I popped into the practice to rearrange - I was reassured I'd be called by the Practice Manager with an appropriate appointment. No phone call so I followed up again and was assured by reception that there was a solution and they would call back today. Again no call back so my partner followed up by going into the practice; The earliest they can apparently do is nearly a month after our baby needs her vaccinations. At no fault of our own our baby will now have less protection for a period of time and to my understanding the efficacy of the vaccine will be affected.

UPDATE: Someone from the practice has since called me to convince me that the timing of the vaccines has no effect on our baby - I asked for the data that supports this view but it wasn't forthcoming. I'll have a look in detail but this isn't a good look - we've gone from poor service to making unsubstantiated claims contrary to official NHS guidance that according to that same guidance may affect patient outcomes. Surely any decisions about patient care should be able to be supported with data when queried?

I was suffering from the high blood pressure 204/110. Called the receptionist at 4pm on one Friday (29/11/24). The doctor said if I had any uncomfortable feelings (such as headache, chest pain), just go to A&E, They didnot give me any medication to control my.blood pressure or emergent appointment. Moreover, they even didnot remind me that my blood pressure was in a dangerous situation. I drove on motorway for 2 hrs for a single journey on Saturday.

Next Monday, when I went to the reception to tell the symptoms, they didnot check my blood pressure and asked me go to A&E of Wythenshawe hospital instead. However, the Wythenshawe hospital doctor saw me after 6hrs of waiting and said my problem (hypertension)should be treated by a GP other than coming to the A&E. They only treat the emergent symptoms.

What Barlow medical doctors did were totally ignoring the dangers of a patient was suffering from and just tried to kick ball to the A&E. , which is badly wasting the NHS resources.

I had the very tighten feeling of my heart last night and called the receptionist at 8am today. The doctor said I need to go to A&E again.

They didnot check whether the Ramiprill (5mg) ,which was prescribed by the emergency doctor
under my very hard request. However, the clinic doctor didnot check whether it was working on me.Could my.heart problem cause by the pills. What the reason for my heart problem .just let me go to the A&E.

I doubt this might because the minimum budget GP want to use and ignore the patient who isnot local,.I do doubt.

I will keep all the evidence and complain the Barlow medical clinic for this case.

I made several calls to the practice along with the funeral directors to pursue my uncles death certificate, we were assured it would be done ASAP on Monday, it wasn't excuse given member of staff off sick who usually does it. So only one member of staff is capable of sending this form? Other excuse given short-staffed, Checked again Tues still not sent, assured again it would be done that day by close of play, funeral directors also advised me they had been pursuing it many times.
Wednesday was advised by funeral directors still not done, I spoke to reception that evening waited on phone for over 40 mins in position 1 to then be told they were just doing it. Absolutely fuming at the lack of respect to the deceased/family. Communication extremely poor, no phone calls to explain that form hadn't been sent to Registrar.
Advised Thurs it had finally been sent & that we didn't need to take copy of death cert with us, good job I checked with registrars office as they confirmed I did need this. Communication should have been a priority sadly it wasn't. It's been a horrible time as it is & this just added to the whole stress & upset. Maybe you think because they are now deceased they don't matter. Total shambles & disrespectful to him & us. Your telephone system also needs amending no option for Other Queries.

Brilliant experience at the surgery. Filled in a PATCHS request with worrying symptoms at 8am. I was in the surgery by 9.30 seeing a doctor. My condition worsened and I saw Doctor Morris first thing the following day who was understanding and really helpful. Provided a diagnosis and also provided a follow up call. I also requested further prescriptions on PATCHS which was dealt with promptly over the phone by another doctor who was lovely. I have really felt supported - thanks to the surgery and the doctors who treated me.

Very poor service. They have this online tool "Patchs", through which they want you to book appointments. I have been turned away trying to book in person, and twice on the phone (after a long wait on hold each times), and told to use Patchs. This tool is only open 7am-10am on week days, so if you commute or start work early you cannot make an appointment. Furthermore, they don't give out appointments in advance - they offered me a same-day appointment, but I since would need to plan my day accordingly in advance I asked for an appointment the next day. Got a message from them that they only do same-day appointments. How are working people supposed to do this?

The doctors are good. Everything else is just simply no. I've lived in different cities and towns over a number of decades, and this medical centre is the worst. With the exception of Una, the receptionist have stopped caring and are robotic, the phone system is 1hr plus queue and their PATCHS seems to crash. The reception being the most worrying as IT systems can be ineffective but a good set of frontline staff makes such a huge difference to a medical centre service.

I regret to say that my experience with this GP practice has been deeply disappointing.
The practice manager, unfortunately is full of baloney I would not recommend this GP to anyone who values attentiion and compassionate healthcare. One star would be too generous.
