Moved from another Worcester surgery to Barbourne. I cannot fault them. I can’t praise them enough. They are friendly, welcoming, knowledgable and proactive. The medics are genuinely caring and go above and beyond time and time again. They listen to patients and understand that we know ourselves best. There’s no waiting for hours on the phone, no getting fobbed off, there’s no comparison with the surgery I’ve come from. The bad reviews appear to come from people who expect the world and more from a struggling NHS Service. I have no problems with my prescriptions being sent to the pharmacy - in fact they did it within 10 mins for me last week to ensure I could get my antibiotics before the pharmacy closed. Using the online form, I have got every appointment I have needed within the required time frame. When I needed an emergency appt, I used the call back service, spoke to reception within 15 mins and I was seen the same day and like I said, went home with the antibiotics I needed. Today Dr Harris called me just to see how I was, and if there was anything more I needed - this phonecall wasn’t requested or booked. I feel very lucky to be a patient here, especially with my complex medical needs.

Excellent care provided to help me with recent health issues and the reception team have always been professional and kind to me since i joined the surgery. The online triage works well for seeking appointments or guidance without waiting on the phone and would advise others to try the service and also sign up to the NHS App to access test results easily. I have seen first hand how busy the surgery is, and certainly deserves more funding, but to the staff currently working under significant pressure you have my gratitude.

Parking. £100 fine for not realising that this is a permit car park? Really Not come across this technicality before. First and only visit. I parked in the car park and used the front entrance to the health centre. Which other surgery has parking tickets? Clearly any signs that may exist, alerting me to the need for a permit, were not at all obvious to me!! I'd have gladly acquired a permit had I realised. If I saw a sign I'd have assumed it was not meant for brief visits. Why on earth don't staff remind patients when they know it's a problem? I'll appeal. More hassle.

Recently made the move to this GP surgery since moving house. Seeing the care both clinical and reception staff have for my partner, it was a no brainer to move to the same surgery. I've been treated very well, and the reception staff are wonderful, an asset to the surgery. Thank you.

Very disappointed. I'm not a frequent visitor to the GP, don't think I've been since before Covid... Anyway I needed to go there the other week feeling really unwell and coughing up blood from my lungs. I didn't notice the change to the carparking system and I now have a £100 fine. Thanks for your aid.

Response to Debbie.
Clearly not Debbie. What you need is a big sign that reads

"Register your vehicle inside to avoid a £100 fine!"

Fewer words on your signs get the message across.

Today I booked an appointment for my daughter. When I saw doctor harris he saw I was unwell and assessed me too. I left with blood tests being done on the same day and antibiotics. I know how stretched services are so I really appreciated his time to assess me too.

I’ve recently had to utilise the services here for myself and my daughter and I can honestly say the surgery have been fab. The new call back system is very overdue but brilliant! The staff have been friendly and helpful and all referrals that I have needed have been in a timely fashion. So thank you!

2024: I'm writing this review as another update of the services both me and my partner have experienced at this surgery. I've struggled all my life with my mental health and have been on the same medication for a long time now. I order through the NHS app which works fine, and the surgery texts me when I need a review. I've talked to Mr Gill in the past when I was struggling with overtiredness which I thought was related to the medication, at which point he sent me for a completely unrelated and useless blood test that came back clear for any issues. No follow-up. I also asked him for an autism test but he suggested I go to his room without an appointment (?) to meet him after they do my bloods which was obviously not appropriate. My partner has had trouble with Gill as a consultant too when seeing him about insomnia, as he lacks eye contact and seems not to listen to everything a patient tells him, only latching to one seemingly unrelated part of the issue. My partner has been sent to A&E on multiple occasions by different consultants here too, at which point (after waiting 8 hours at one point), he was diagnosed with certain soft tissue or sprain injuries that the GP should've picked up on.
I tried the online messaging service today to ask about trigger finger and if splinting it would be the best course of action, and reception simply said "You can buy a splint online or from the pharmacy."
"So, do I need an appointment?"
"I don't know, I'm not a medical professional. It's your choice."
However, Dr Nwofor is an absolute angel and when talking to him in the past I've felt understood and listened to about all my issues.
I fully understand other reviewers' frustrations about getting appointments with the phone lines being bogged down every morning because it's clear that same day appointments are offered from 8am so regular patients flood the lines by pressing 3 twice and skipping straight down the line, and if you wait until 10am reception will book you in for an appointment in 2 weeks' time which is too long even if your condition doesn't feel too serious. I wish there was a middle ground.
I find that in general, some consultants and the reception team don't take time to listen to or read a patient's full problem before sending them on to somewhere or someone else. (2 stars)

2023: I've been in a few times since moving to Worcester and the doctors and receptionists are absolutely lovely.
However, it does seem like there's a communication issue between the staff because I've had multiple appointments now unsure if they're phone/face-to-face and I've been told to be available "just in case" I need to go in, but then never had a call back, or had to call them again to clarify what type of appointment they booked for me. Then I feel like if I've missed an appointment because of bad communication that I've wasted medical time!
When I moved to Worcester, trying to transfer all of my information was immensely difficult. The receptionist at the time told me that I could be signed-up with your online system once registered with you so I went into the clinic a few days after and asked for an online registration letter (as per it asks on your website) to link BHC as my GP for my account on the PatientAccess service. I was locked of most of the NHS app's features since changing to you as my GP and transferring my medical records, and the site hung if I tried to register using my NHS login, so I needed the registration letter instead. The receptionist didn't understand what I was talking about even after showing her the website on my phone. She asked a colleague, and they said they'd send me an 'access code' through text message. I never had anything come through. The whole ordeal was very stressful.
Thankfully after emailing a very very long-winded letter explaining my frustrations, it was sorted out soon after but I'd spent a whole day walking back and forth from my apartment to the surgery and pharmacy trying to find my medical documents and get the medication of which I was overdue.
