After having an issue with my gp mental health team for them to get me a sick note I was given an appointment at Miranda House with Sarah who validated everything I said, a very compassionate lady who has helped lead me to the support I should receive within the next few weeks.
I did not have to stay at the facility but the reception team were welcoming and as mentioned the meeting with Sarah was nothing but reassuring and helpful.

The actual staff who work on the ward are lovely, and very helpful. It’s the psychiatrist who is the the problem. The first timed I ended up being admitted here. I didn’t have an issue because I took self discharge. However the second time, I went in voluntarily because I did not want to be sectioned. After 4 days I was summonsed to a meeting straight out of bed in the morning. Where the psychiatrist was patronising, did not listen to a word I said. Made me feel small, and even more embarrassed about being in there than I already did.Told me I ‘can’t just use hospital’ when in reality I did not want to be there. But I was struggling, I ended up walking out the meeting. They let me out in my pjs in an upset state. No support, no medication. I ended up leaving dumping my stuff and attempting. Thankfully I calmed down and did contact crisis for help. I just worry for people in worst states than myself because they couldn’t have cared less.

After having spent a week of sessions with the crisis team I can say without doubt that everyone who helped me was kind, patient, polite and did wonders helping me out of an awful place. Furthermore I've watched as they've had to deal with difficult, volatile cases in a dignified manner with admirable patience. Thank you ever so much to everyone part of my care and otherwise ♥️

They will throw away your personal possessions without reasoning with you. I'm not talking things that should be obviously confiscated, they threw away my valuables and then lied about it. I've been sectioned in other places and never been treated so poorly as I have at Miranda house. I would rather die than come back to this place, utter disgrace, staff are unprofessional and cruel, I wouldn't send my worst enemy here. My deepest sympathy to anyone forced to stay here, you deserve better than this.

Update~ The staff have changed since I first posted this review. I had a lovely stay and they helped me very much. I am leaving my original review in place so people can see the improvement. I actually would recommend Miranda house now to anyone, they're really helpful.

Rude staff and un caring no communication what so ever. When checking my daughters belongs just threw them all over the place and when moving failed to send her belongings and when asked was told she had too much things 4 days later still not reunited with her belongings. Rude un caring staff and absolute disgrace

Uncaring staff that mock you and tell you it's your own fault. Unprofessional. Made to feel like a burden. Was sent by the police after feeling suicidal only to be turned away and told stop wasting our time. The one time I was admitted, was told it was a mistake and I was literally pushed out of the door into a taxi with my belongings in plastic bags. Like others say, this place needs investigating and shutting down. Evil. The staff get off on being nasty. I've witnessed terrible things.
