I have just read some of the reviews of this doctor’s surgery.
I can only say that having been coming to this practice for about 53 years it is truly brilliant. It has always been good but I do feel that it is at its best that I can ever remember.
The doctors and nursing staff are excellent as well as the reception team who couldn’t be more helpful
Well done and thanks

Very thorough examination from the new Doctor, gave me plenty of time and showed a real interest in my conditions. Took plenty of time to review my medical history and think he will be a great addition to an already very good practice.

This surgery has always been a good surgery. I’ve been here since the age of five and now 50. Since covid I feel this surgery has gone down hill. The doctors are good but their system with appointments isn’t. This phone call system and sending pictures before you get a face to face isn’t great and when you go on the nhs app you have to wait a good six weeks before you can see a dr and the dr that you have felt comfortable with. The old system of being able to ring and make an appointment should be brought back in now that Covid has been more stabilised. 5star for the doctors 2 star for the system they have continued with.

I'm a patient at this doctors do not register they don't care about the clients mental health they refuse to put me on the adhd medication told by NHS to give as current medication can't be got ahold of because they don't want to monitor me to make sure it's working still waiting on the mental health team they referred me to last December after causing myself physical harm and refuse to give my my depression tablets because they claim it's linked to my adhd and she'd be taking my adhd medication for it. Avoid doctors and they won't give you the help you need.

I will sing the praises of Dr.Doulton and previously Dr.Julia Blatchly all day long however myself and another I know very well when talking about the surgery have both had distressing and negative experiences with DR.Waller both of us being accused of having an attitude problem when seeking help for mental health and medication after being refused help from an extremely overrun Farnham road hospital, both of us being told by them to speak to your GP and seek different medication. In general I would say he's a good gp but no understanding of mental health what so ever in my opinion. Also his attitude changed after I said to reception I wanted to complain, there was more concern in a following appointment and asked how I was with more eye contact, however still till this day it's still not clear how to really address this matter other than email hence this review.

The above happened over a year ago when I had a diagnosis of Complex Depression Chronic Anxiety and PTSD etc.

Since then I'm not on any medication and I'm once again in therapy by my own choice and seeking help elsewhere, I will say Dr.Doulton did get me help from Iapt services and I will say she has been amazing every step of the way very understanding and supportive!

Upon seeing some other reviews I do agree that I have had difficulty with a particular member of reception understandably under pressure however I have been cut off and had to phone back because I had more than one problem and did not get a chance to say and generally feel that the other staff are more polite.

Update as of June 22nd 2024

My regular GP Dr Dalton is absolutely amazing however I have complaints against Dr Waller previously but now feel I can speak to him and have had help.

Update as of October 30th

The newer reception staff are very polite and helpful in particular Elaine has been amazing assisting me via email.

I’ve been a patient here on and off my whole life, and for 32 years this surgery has remained the best practice in my opinion in the local area. The phone is always answered promptly, the receptionists are empathetic and helpful, there isn’t usually a long wait for appointments and every GP/ nurse I have seen has run on time and has offered an incredibly helpful and thorough consultation. Luckily I don’t have to see a GP often but I would have confidence in seeing any of the doctors here as they are all fantastic. Keep up the good work Austen Road!

Absolutely amazing. I’m a new patient so they wanted to see me. Yes, a little bit late on the appointment time but at a 5:30pm appointment I’ll totally forgive that. My doctor was so very lovely and approachable. We went through my meds, she advised me how best to use the repeat prescriptions, and she took blood for a complete work check. What a lovely surgery and a fabulous doctor. Thank you for the experience!

Appointments are ridiculously distant (4 weeks or more, if not urgent) and I have recently had a booked appointment cancelled by the surgery themselves. I rang back to re-book and was told the earliest was another 3-4 weeks on! 7 weeks to book an appointment - absolutely disgusting. To cap it all the receptionist put the phone down as I was trying to check my diary to make sure I could get the day off. I wouldn't mind, but I had been as nice as pie to her.
