Staff not really engaging unless someone is kicking off. Cleaners don't clean well if at all. No bathroom door so have to shower where staff can see you (no dignity). And if you like your food well good luck if there is any left by the time you get there as they only have enough food to feed 10 out of 20 rooms.

Edit: Don't leave a reply to my review to contact via phone or email as the service is generally rubbish.

Wonderful place, can't fault it. Staff were attentive, caring and experienced. There were activities for the patients that were stimulating. The food was plentiful and varied. Mum's medication was sorted and she's much better now. The individual rooms were clean and fresh with an en-suite and TV. We couldn't have asked for better care for Mum.

Westleigh ward has to be the worst admission ever. Not only do they leave people to have incidents but they’ve let slip patients Uber eating paracetamol onto the ward. When warning staff off how you feel they ignore you completely. I was not safe and I witnessed many patients go through incidents that could have been prevented. It’s known as “patients help patients” on that ward because care is minimal

Treated with care, respect, kindness & dignity, the staff were very kind, helpful & attentive. They were always willing to help me especially in times of distress - the relaxation room was fully equipped with weighted blankets, bean bags, aromatherapy scents & special mood changing lights. The staff were always on hand to help!

I've been forgot about and let down by this place a few times now. Absolutely disgusting that the system treats people in need of help like this! Completely fed up of chasing people to try and get help. That's not to say that all the staff are bad

Doctors don’t listen to carers! I can’t fault the staff in the excellent care my son has received on the ward, however, the psychiatric doctors lack compassion and understanding of vulnerable patients and they seem to believe the only answer is to drug the patient up with antipsychotics which will not resolve the social problems and stigma they create by giving them a negative label. Fully understand the Edenfield abuse situation.

My son was on priestner unit for 2 weeks and I can honestly say what a disgrace they never treated him and they goaded him especially the night staff who swore at him as well, he's come out worse than he went in, they don't know what they are doing and certainly wasted our time , this is a poor ward. The ward manager as well spoke out of order with an attitude to me when I rang, she was more concerned about her staff than my son who is still mentally ill but they didn't care for him and discharged him even though he was not well they should be ashamed of themselves all of them.

I have struggled with my mental
health for a very long time. Due to extreme distress and upset in the past two months, and not receiving support from the recovery team with calls being ignored and told by a secretary that I could not book an appointment to speak to a Psychiatrist about my mental health diagnosis. Struggling I telephoned the out of hours crisis line I was advised to ring crisis and home treatment team if I became worse.. Nine hours later I rang the crisis team as I was suicidal and feeling very unwell, she transferred me to crisi
S and home treatment team there I was given no support after I explained I was in great distress due to a great difficulty I had experienced ,I said I felt great distress and felt I was unable to cope and was unravelling mentally and was having suicidal thoughts. This person did not assess me and merely said I will email recovery team to telephone you, this was Saturday morning. O later spoke to a different team who asked ha I been assessed and washed arrangements been made for someone to call and visit me. I stated none of that had happened and it was decided I should go to a&e if things didn't improve. I telephone the crisi and home treatment team were I was left waiting ten minutes to be answered this same person got annoyed when I said I was told I would have an assessment , all she was interested in was who said that she also claimed I hadn't said I was suicidal which I was. Very poor service, she shouldn't be working in mental health when not following procedure. She was picking and choosing who to be helped which is very dangerous this is the first and last time I will ring , if I feel unwell in the future I will go to a&e with a family member to help myself. We are always reading seek help no matter how trivial especially when feeling suicidal. Useless service.

I telephoned on Friday and spoke to a very nice lady who said this certainly needs investigating and that Katherine was in charge to investigate. I have waited five days for response no one been in contact. I telephone customer care today 5x and got voicemail left message no one rang back , then told Katherine off sick not told when till. Surely somebody else should be asked to investigate as it can happen to someone else in crisis. Will go through route of an advocate as this should not have happened to me or anyone else.
