I’d like to say how fantastic Alison House has been with mum. Caring and helpful even when the filters were off sometimes.

With living away I visit when I can and I can quite honestly say my mum always looks content. Her room is clean and tidy. My mum is emasculate and the home is always spotless. The staff here are incredible and I’m glad they are looking after my mum. 5 stars and more.

Allison House has looked after my husband for 4 years and continues to do so. It is uniquely designed for dementia sufferers and residents are looked after with care and compassion. The care my husband receives is second to none. The management and staff are outstanding, they are professional, kind and supportive. As his wife I feel welcomed as part of "the family" and encouraged to be involved in his daily care which is important to me. He is shown dignity and respect from all carers and staff in all departments. Each resident has their own unique care plan and there are always carers available to discuss the care being provided. They understand all his needs and act on them accordingly. When I have had any problems I have always felt able to highlight them and together have found a positive way forward. The nursing care is of a high standard. They keep me informed at all stages of his care and provide a caring safe and secure environment. Thank you for making each day precious.

I have been visiting Allison House for more than Two Years visiting various times of the day and night as my Wife is a resident. I have never seen a group of Staff who are more dedicated to Residents,Visitors and to themselves. The house Staff relentlessly ensure the building is spotlessly clean.All the Staff from Management to Carers and House Staff treat people as friends and not resident's.

Allison house was recommended to me by one of my friends who’s mam had previously stayed here as we were having a nightmare with the care my dad had received from the 2 previous homes my dad had been in, this is his 3rd home within just a little over a year. We had cried daily for 3 months having to go into the other homes to see my dad begging to come home pacing the floors for over 16 hours a day barely sleeping for 2/3 hours a night if he was lucky. As a family we agreed on a timetable where at-least 1 of us would be with him at all times from morning to night to make sure he was okay. When we finally got my dad into Allison house it was an absolute breath of fresh air, he settled straight in & hasn’t asked to come home once, it’s been 11 months since he’s been in & the care my dad & us as a family receive on a daily is next to non, he wants for nothing, my dad is always clean & dressed smart just as he was when he was well, his room is always spotless & smells fresh & wardrobe always full of fresh clean clothes. As a family we feel so relaxed & at peace that my dad is finally getting the care he needs & if for whatever reason we can’t make it to visit one day we don’t worry as we know he’s happy & getting all the attention from the staff. The staff are always happy & are always going above & beyond to make sure all the residents are Aswell. They are the ones that make it a home & we couldn’t be more grateful for each & everyone of them.

The staff at Allison house are outstanding. Nothing is too much for them and they treat each resident as a member of their own family with love, compassion and care. The nursing home is definitely a home from home environment. There have been improvements over the last couple of years which have added to the homeliness of Allison house and I would recommend families take a look at this nursing home if you’re looking for somewhere and someone to look after your loved one. Can’t thank them enough for taking good care of my husband.

Only leaving one star because it leaves no choice. Staff are not dementia trained and the care they provide is extremely poor. Staff vape inside whilst looking after residents and they do nothing with complaints. They didn’t even give us chance to clear our relatives room after they had died. I would not recommend this care home.

If you care how your loved one is looked after then avoid this place at all cost.The care that is provided by a lot of staff is awful, as a family we have had nothing but problems from the day our mam regrettably moved in,the first issue was dirty bedding left on her bed,this went onto finding fresh bruising on mams wrists and arms ,every visit we found new bruises which I took photo's of.Mam was also found on the floor with a broken hip,after which she was not fully mobile.Not long after mam had a fall in her room during the night and ended up with a large lump and cut to the back of her head,staff failed to notice her injuries until the following morning,within a couple of days bruising appeared on mams neck which I also took photo's of .we have witnessed other residents being drag lifted out of chairs, pulled out of chairs by their wrists,and management don't appreciate complaints, I was told that staff are walking on egg shells around me because there has been so many safe guarding due to bruising on my mam,staff blatantly lie when filling in behaviour charts.I had to inform staff 3 times on one occasion that my mam was wet and dirty in bed and that she needed to be changed, 1 and a half hours later they finally came in .Bedrooms have motion sensors in,my mam also has a mattress sensor alarm,when visiting one morning mam was asleep in bed ,neither of these safety measures were in place, the mattress sensor was folded in half on the floor under the bed .Later that morning when mam was helped to get up she was taken for lunch with the palm of her hand covered in faces.we asked for a lock to be put on mams bedroom door,which was done immediately, this was because other residents tend to walk into Bedrooms,even though mams room is locked when she isn't in her room,baring in mind that she hasn't been mobile since her hip replacement we have found that mams personnel items have disappeared from her room.I saw 2 members of staff using mams hairbrush on two other residents (clearly marked with mams name).I've seen other residents wearing mams clothes, which all have my mams name in,also found mam wearing mens clothing. Where is the person centered care?.The laundry service is poor,mam has her own bedding which is never ironed,it's barely even folded,it's more or less rolled into a ball ,I was told that they don't iron pyjamas, which is very apparent, these are also rolled into a ball most of the time.I have found dried faces on mams mattress and the bed had been made I've stript mams bed and found urine stained pillows .I would highly recommend others to think twice before choosing this care home for someone who means the world to them.we have now managed to get our mam out of here .

Place uniquely designed for dementia residents. They're not entire organised but I think they've got what it takes in terms care & facilities. Has been operating for many years now, I think it needs structural renovation.
