Trying to get to see my GP is near impossible. 2 yrs ago, tried to see my GP but best I could get was a phone consultation made with a somewhat insensitive receptionist. Had swelling in my leg and was told by the GP unlikely a clot and to rest leg. A while later, I was in A&E with chest pains: pulmonary embolism.
Because of the continuous frustrations of trying to get an appointment, I haven't bothered to try to see someone about HRT in 2 years now. Then I heard about the new triage/online system to get an appointment; maybe things will improve. Well, got a text from NHS with a link to book an appointment for a health check. No surprise, no appointments available. So tried submitting an appointment request online... oh my, my blood pressure is through the roof; complicated without actually allowing me to select what the appointment is for. 21st century, 1st world country but not much better than a 3rd world experience I had in Africa. Is it just this particular surgery? Or is this the norm?

OK. It's not easy to get to see a doctor nowadays but the new triage system does actually seem to work! The process and detail required can be a bit tedious but once completed they're quick to respond. If something goes a bit pear shaped and you have to phone, the staff are super polite and helpful. It all works well for me and if it doesn't entail a visit but a telephone call instead, even better!

Wow, just wow. First of all before I start complaining, I want to say a massive thank you to Dr Ali, amazing medical professional and was so kind towards me despite what had happened. My main practice is abbey medical and with their new system, I booked through the anima app. I was told to go to Albany house but out of human error I showed up to abbey medical as I have never been seen by Albany (the receptionist at abbey medical said it’s a common mistake which happens to most patients.) I turned up to abbey and the receptionist kindly explains I was at Albany and to call them to inform that I was on my way over, Albany then replied saying I need to contact abbey and see what the say, which I did. Long story short Dr Ali from Albany rang asking me to come in asap which I then left my home and arrived within 5 minutes of him calling. I arrived and I was met with the rudest receptionist on earth, i thoroughly explained the situation towards her and she turned me away despite dr Ali giving me a call, I went home and called back and lovely lady picked up explaining how the receptionist I saw could’ve accessed who I was supposed to see and send me right through to get treated. Instead of her doing that, she turned me away and due to this, between Dr Ali trying to see me and her refusing me, I was dragged out of my house and back to the surgery 4 times. Finally Dr Ali called and apologised on her behalf (which I shouldn’t have done, it should’ve been the receptionist.) He asked if I could come back in and I agreed due to the severity of my illness when I arrived, the original receptionist had ‘left’ for the day and so I was unsuccessful at receiving her name as I was stunned with her behaviour the first time that asking for her name skipped my mind completely. The receptionist I say sent me straight through to the waiting area (I don’t know why it was so hard for the first receptionist to do the same) and finally got seen by dr Ali. Big thank you to him and the receptionist I spoke to on the phone, both lovely people who DESERVE to be in the medical field, there was no reason for the receptionist to turn me away despite her witnessing the severity of my respiratory illness. Please can something be done about this! People use these services to seek help when they are feeling their roughest and should never ben spoken to like I piece of scum on the bottom of their shoe.

How friendly the reception staff are in Albany house go in regularly for a dressing change and when I mention that the sanitizer is empty again so I cannot easily disifect my hands after every I'll person has touched it. They say yes don't worry. So friendly. And I get to say it every time before and after my ten day holiday to Turkey and after my month away. It's still there broken or empty. But I don't get out much so it's great that I get to speak to someone regularly. Yes don't worry as I sit and wait with other I'll people spreading germs.

I when I try to book an appointment online, there was none for both last week and today Went into the practice and the receptionist I met was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. Telling me if I can’t get appointment, what makes me think they can. Total disgrace.

Can only apply for an appointment online. They do not make phone appointments.
Never seen the same dr twice. No follow up on anything they do. Every dr u see says one thing and writes another thing down. Have been wandering around with multiple broken bones. Cannot get them to take me seriously. Have complained for over a decade that there is something wrong behind my right eye. Despite loss of function on left side and worsening vision in right eye, have had zero investigation into it. It's just brushed aside . Always offered anti depressants and pain meds despite fact I'm asking for x Ray's. If u value yes and yr families health go elsewhere. This practice deals in pharmakeia not health. More interested in ticking government boxes and getting their vaccine bonuses than in patients actual reality and health.

Albany house: failing us all once again, if you can't log into their website which you must use even for repeat prescriptions (over the phone not allowed) all fobbed off to "Anime", which staff either don't know how to or wish to help you use. Simply say have to call at 07:30 tomorrow if you can't (it's 11am).. Lol
