My mum lived in Abbeleigh House for 6 months prior to which she had live in carers at home. The manager and carers here are absolutely amazing. My mum had Alzheimer's and could be quite difficult and resistant to being cared for as she didn't understand that she needed help and thought she was still very independent. The transition to residential care was so smooth that my mum settled in immediately. The carers are very kind, encouraging and extremely friendly. Having visited many care homes I have to say they are the best carers i have experienced. Mum did have to go into hospital a few times and again the transition to and back could not be faulted. I would like to add that the medical care and recognition of mum needing hospitalisation was immediate and liaison with family superb. Although mum did not want to go into residential care and thought she was happy at home i saw a different mum in Abbeleigh. I saw her smile, laugh and interact with people for the first time in years; she was so happy there. She was a very social person and Abbeleigh provided activities to keep her busy and meet lots of new friends. She enjoyed the food and her room was very nice with everything she needed. Sadly we lost mum mid September and the support given to me and my family was incredible. They could not have done any more to support me, thank you Abbeleigh. I couldn't have asked for a better environment and better care for my mum to have in the last months of her life and i would not hesitate in recommending this residential home. Thank you Julie and all of you lovely hard working carers at Abbeleigh House.

Mum moved in to Abbeleigh House in May 2023 as her Dementia had got worse and she could no longer look after herself. It only took a couple of weeks for her to settle in and I worried so much that she wouldn't be happy, but I can honestly say it was the best decision ever made. She couldn't be in better hands. Julie, the manager and the rest of the staff are fantastic, friendly and work so hard to ensure everyone is looked after in a caring, professional manner. Mum is very settled and happy and I know she is in the best hands. I would definitely recommend Abbeleigh House as a safe, friendly environment to live in.

Iโ€™ve had to give one star as wouldnโ€™t let me post with no stars. This place is awful. My Dad moved in last October and there was so many miscommunications that happened regarding medication and messages. The staff was always on the phones supposedly working. Everytime I visited one of the residents would ask to go to the toilet including my dad and always an excuse why they cant go straight away. Average wait time was 20 minutes and then would get annoyed with my dad when he kept shouting wanting to go to toilet. Hardly had fluids only 2 trolleys a day and when asked for more always took them ages or forgotten about. Worst thing that happened was they told my mum he had a mark on his foot and could she sign she was ok no need for medical help. Then a nurse showed the actually problem and he had to go to hospital and could have lost his foot as infection was so bad. We have complained and was just given excuses. I would never put anyone in here.

My Dad Dave who is now 92, and has Dementia, went into Abbeleigh about a month ago. Today I found out he will now be there permanently. I could not be more pleased or happier with the excellent, professional and kind care he receives 24/7. Julie and her staff will make my Dads next few years as pleasant, happy, and safe as is possible. Great job everyone๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Mum spent almost 5 years in Abbeleigh House when her dementia meant she could no longer care for herself. The staff are caring, maintained mum's dignity and always treated her with respect. They became her extended family.
Their end of life care was impeccable and we would not have wished for her to be anywhere else when the time came.
Thank you Julie, Jackie and your team.

The staff at Abbeleigh are fantastic. My mum spent about 3 years there while she had dementia and she was treated with respect and kindness. I would totally recommend this care home. They were so lovely and even attended her funeral - I couldn't have asked for more.

My dad has just spent 2 weeks respite care at this home. I couldn't have wished for better care at this difficult time. One of the managers Julie was extremely supportive and caring to us as a family and every carer I met or spoke to on the phone did everything to keep my mind at ease. If my dad needs further care in the future I wouldn't hesitate in asking Abbeleigh House to offer that care.
