I had a gastric sleeve op done by the wonderful Dr William Carr, I have to say he was superb. My surgery was February 2023 and I weighed a whopping 25 stone. I knew something had to be done, as I felt unhealthy and unconfident in my overall self. Dr Carr was so supportive in his techniques, so we’re all the staff really. Since February 2023 I am a healthy 9 stone 11 loosing 15 stone in 1 & half. I couldn’t have think of best way to spend £13,000. It was worth it in my eyes. I now wear nice fitted clothes instead of baggy un-appealing clothes like I wore at the height of me being 25 stone.
Advice to anyone thinking of getting a gastric sleeve, it is painful for the first month - so painful but it gets better and it’s worth it from the outcome, times when the pain was unbelievable I was prescribed pain morphine, and at times that didn’t even cut the pain, but I thought to myself this is going to work out for the best and it did.
Overall I’d defiantly recommend Washington hospital/spire.

I had surgery with Mr Balupuri on 7th September 2022. Spire itself was 3/5. The admin side of things was a bit clunky and the nurses didn't feel very attentive, which was frustrating given the costs involved (£14k).

But that aside, the quality of care I received from my surgeon before, during and after surgery far outweighed all of that. He's also the reason I'm returning to Spire again for another surgery in the new year.

My partner and I spoke to him regularly, he explained everything in great detail and he is one of the nicest people I've ever met. He's always smiling, he's caring and he's what we all want in a doctor. My surgical scars are non-existent, my recovery was pretty rapid and when I expressed anxiety or frustration at follow ups - he'd calm me down and take the time to talk me through my concerns. 2 years later and I'm happier than I've ever been. I'm in great health and I'm living my best life.

In short, he's a fantastic surgeon and I can't recommend him enough. 🙂

Was referred her via NHS, had a disc bulge and got the injection first, didn't work. Then got the op which we t well but didn't work, waited 7 months got another injection which really hurts in scar tissue didn't work. Waited 6 weeks for a phone call to be told he doesn't want to work on scar tissue as d he will call in 6 months. I'm so disappointed, you'd think going to a private hospital you'd get a better result.

I have been trying to book consultation for my daughter, despite insurance company approving this you insisted that i have a doctors referral - i obtained this and tried to send multiple times - your email system keeps rejected it - appears it doesn't accept attachment as emails without attachments go through fine - after numerous phone call I asked if another email address was available and simply told no ...... so left in total limbo - poor service and attitude - no offer of help. wasted hours on this.

Dupuytren's Contracture surgery 4.09.24.
Consultant: Mr Jagannath Chakravarthy.
Just over two months since surgery. Completely flat hand on a solid surface. Full fist clench. Normal movement to hand. Scar fading. Splint use reducing.
I can't thank Mr Chakravarthy enough & Michael (Physiotherapist), the nurses who wound checked and removed the stitches.
My hand is 'normal' again.
Thank you so much.
Exceptional hospital, exceptional staff, Mr Chakravarthy is a miracle man.

I went to this hospital to see a consultant as a NHS patient, I had a MRI scan the nurses that did my scan were two lovely ladies, however the consultant was rude, dismissive and didn't want to even speak to me, I took my husband in the room with me as I wasn't happy with the way I was treat with him on the first consultation, he never acknowledged my husband, and when I asked if I could have a trapped nerve, he abruptly said I don't know, then he told me I just needed pain management and for my age my spine was basically quite good, which is not true as other scans have proven that four vertebrae in my neck had rapidly deteriorated and have vertebrae in my lower back aren't good either, when asked questions he did not want to answer he snapped back, then he proceeded to take his dictaphone out and started speaking rapidly at it so he didn't have to answer, my husband said he was furious and he didn't even want me in there and he couldn't say anything because he felt like exploding, a utter disgrace.

The waiting area and reception team are lovely, even the man who did my ultrasound was amazing. My issue is with the complete disrespectful attitude from the doctor who did my consultation afterwards. He disregarded everything I said about my pain and harshly proded at my breasts , not checking , basically stabbing me with his fingers. He sent me away saying "breast tenderness" ladies we know what breast tenderness feels like it is not feeling sick due to the pain, being woken up by pain, not able to carry anything in my left hand because of the pain and it shouldn't be causing chills, tiredness and hotness in the area! I felt rushed out and disregarded I don't know if it's just because I'm 20 or what but the doctor who seen me was horrible.
