Shocking Gp, staff are rude especially receptionist’s. Appointments are cancelled without you being told, I signed up to this Gp only to find they removed me as a patient when I went to book an app with a doctor and told me i would have to come in to collect a sign up form and then hand it in. The new Anima system is a joke as well can never sign in so people are always late to appointments the times I have been in there the elderly either struggle with the system or don’t know what to do it’s like they don’t care about the elderly also never enough staff in as well.

Dr Juliet Reid has always been very helpful and helped me through some very difficult times . E consult service is quite quick whenever I’ve done it . Couldn’t fault it .

Late to my appointment due to lack of communication by PMG staff. The receptionist asked if I could attend a Saturday clinic at Cramlington due to there being a week long wait in Pont (this was after they’d cancelled my appt as I was walking into PMG). They never offered Cramlington/ Dinnington until I was essentially begging at the Reception desk for an appt. The receptionist never mentioned that the Cramlington surgery had moved so we ended up driving to 4 different surgeries in search of it. It was impossible to contact anyone as the ‘Northumbria Primary Care Hub’ had no address and the only contact number was PMG, which is shut on a Saturday. The PMG website said the surgery was still in the Village Surgery but when I went in they were confused as there was no appt for me due to it being the incorrect venue. Even they had no idea where the new surgery was. Thankfully my mother had the idea to go to the hub near the hospital (after ringing 111 and wasting their time trying to find out where this place was- they also had no idea!) and fortunately this was the correct place. PMG need to update their website and let people know that the surgery has moved as I’m sure they would turn people away if they were late to their appt in Pont. Thankfully the receptionist and pharmacy staff in Cramlington were very understanding/ helpful, as was the doctor. A very stressful afternoon, especially when you’re already feeling unwell. Constant errors with PMG, don’t know if it’s a poor online system, poor communication or just general incompetency but it desperately needs sorting.

Given an appointment for the Northumbria Primary Healthcare Hub. PMG Website says out of office appts are at The Village Surgery; this is incorrect, they don’t cover Ponteland. Drove round and tried 4 different sites before ringing 111 who had no clue where the NPHH was, Google doesn’t even provide the info. Eventually went to NSEC on the off chance that they might know, went in Northumbria Way pharmacy who told us it was in the building next door. Daughter nearly missed a very important appointment, has been feeling ill for 3 weeks but couldn’t get appt at Pont. Doctors very dismissive and receptionist unhelpful. Appt text needs a link to address. Staff at NPHH shocked that directions hadn’t been given. PMG gone rapidly downhill and continues to do so.

Seen bang on time ,bloods taken and investigations booked ...

To be fair, I arrived 20 minutes late for my appointment, which had taken 6 weeks to book. Throughout my journey, I had been calling to inform them of my delay. However, upon arrival, I had to wait an additional 15 minutes while the receptionist sorted out the previous patient’s prescription issue.
When the receptionist contacted to the staff member who was supposed to conduct my appointment, I was informed that I would not be seen. The receptionist even gleefully mentioned that there was no availability for a month. This is despite the recorded message claiming online appointment booking availability.
In the real world, how does such a system work?
That’s my experience in a nutshell.

As someone who has lived in the area for 21 years and rarely utilises the doctor’s precious resources, it’s disheartening to encounter such inefficiency and lack of flexibility. The system should consider individual circumstances rather than adhering rigidly to rules.

Worst practice i have every had the displeasure to be part of. Sent me away to see how my "Hernia" would be, i was at the doctors becasue of the pain, why monitor "the pain" when i have a diagnosed "hernia" New online system so you CANNOT book an appointment unless you have access to onine services, not everyone does Ponteland Medical Group, you deserve you 2 Star rating

I honestly would not be alive today without Ponteland Medical Group.. Wonderful Empathic GP Care . My recent appointment with the Asthma Nurse helped me to understand all I need to be doing . My breathing has improved by 60 percent , Reception Staff are kind & patient. I can’t rate this medical centre enough. I am so very grateful to be registered here.
