I moved from a different area in Bristol and reluctantly changed surgeries as I thought my previous one was very good. Since joining I have to say Kingswood Health Centre is even better.

Every time I've needed an appointment I've completed an online form and received a text with a link to book my own appointment. So much better than my old surgery!

The Dr I saw was incredibly helpful and offered to refer me to the hospital which is more than my previous surgery did.

I've been very very impressed and so glad that I changed.

Today 31.07.2024 I went to reception straight away at 8 am with a written notes related to my issue as I was unable to open mouth and speak due to pain in my jaw and throat. My left side of face was swollen. I know they have online and call services but sometime we might need to wait a long to get quick response so I walk straight to GP to get quick response because I also need to send sick note in my work. Receptionist was not very helpful, she didn't read my whole note and she said we won't take request from reception, book through online or give us a call. I said I came straight away because I need to send sick note in my work. She also said it might take 3,4 days to issue sick note. I also said her that I cannot speak much in phone because of pain in my mouth so I came here with written issue in piece of paper and I also want sick note for my work. She just replied go through online or give us a call. If they can take request from a call then why can't they take walk in request?

Actually disgusted with this doctor surgery I had such a good experience with my daughter that suffers with seizures but I’ve recently had a newborn baby which I knew something wasn’t right. We were in a&e on the Friday with breathing issues and struggling to take his bottle along with projectile vomiting every bottle, they then mentioned he may be allergic to the milk or be lactose intolerant and said I needed to link him with the GP on Monday to get a prescription milk.

After a horrific weekend with my son in pain and discomfort at only 4 weeks old, I called on the Monday and they said I needed to fill out online form and someone will get back to me asap, I then did this form and by 11am I had no call, after a continuous morning of crying myself was crying at this point and I needed serious help, I called again and the receptionist put me on hold to see what they could do, I was then told I did not need an emergency appointment and I could be seen Thursday. Not only was they not interested in seeing my 4 week old baby but my health and wellbeing on the phone breaking down crying was not even considered.

I then took my son to a&e and they was disgusted that the gp would not see my son, they seen the pain and heard the cries and decided to give me medication tablets for his reflux, they said if I had left him any longer he would of lost alot of weight.

Absolutely horrified and disgusted they was ok with my 4 week old baby being in distress for another 4 days for an appointment!

No problem with with doctor...eventually.
Butvthe structure of trying to make appointments. Occasional rudeness of staff.
Kids playing loadly in the waiting room is a no no . Course these day everyone is afraid to say anything
This health centre is no longer a health centre but I building which operates on a high bar to obtain an appointment. Even fone appointments.
Case in point is.....the admin teams hours are from 9 till 2? .....wake up kingswood health centre it's 2024...

Great doctors always seem to get me and my family in same day not rarely has it been a bad experience. I struggle with anxiety and they still cater and understand how hard it is for me to get in for tests etc. Understandably it’s harder for everyone as they seem to have so much going on with not enough staff.

I just can't book an appointment online. Tried a couple of times now but get a message saying they've closed it down and a few possible reasons it could be. If you can't even book to get to see a doctor then I'm not sure this practice is fit for purpose.
