I have been provided an amazing service whilst being in the neonatal unit with my premature baby. All the staff have been supporting me through the difficult journey and I have been overwhelmed with the support provided. Jeanine Curtis the coordinator on the neonatal unit is always working hard to provide me and other mothers with the support that is required. She always has a caring, personable and positive approach and genuinely cares how I am getting on through the process. My son has been on this unit for over 2 months and not a day has gone by where I haven't recieved the support I needed whether physically or mentally.

We had absolutely top quality care in the midwife led unit during my wife’s labour from Chloe and Faith, and many good experiences with other midwives at Jessop throughout the pregnancy - In particular Freya, who went out of her way to advocate for us and the birth we wanted and helped us through difficult decisions with copious amounts of wisdom and kindness. Overall really impressed, would have a baby here again

Absolutely appalling parking situation. I left an hour to get to my hospital appointment — plenty of time, as the drive only takes 10 minutes — but I allowed extra time specifically to find parking. Despite that, I spent 40 minutes driving around in circles trying to find a space.

The car park was full, street parking completely taken, and there are signs everywhere warning about fines and staff-only zones. The only available space I could find was a 20-minute walk away, which would have made me late anyway. It’s stressful enough attending a hospital appointment without the added pressure of not being able to park.

In the end, I had to call and cancel the appointment because I simply couldn’t find a place to leave my car. We shouldn’t be expected to go through this. Yes, I could have got a taxi, but that’s expensive — and I already own a car, plus I had work afterwards with important equipment in the boot.

Do better. This is not acceptable for a hospital.

I can't thank all the staff enough for their hard work and dedication. Unexpectedly I gave birth to my little girl at only 26weeks and ended up spending 10 whole weeks in the NICU. Not all heroes wear capes as they definitely saved my little girl. We went from intensive care, to high dependency and to special care. Every single one of those staff members was absolutely brilliant and so welcoming at such a scary time. My little girl went from a ventilator to breathing on her own....from being covered in every single wire/drip you name it... to just needing a NG tube. Thanks a million, especially to Holly, Claire,Nora,Gina,Ivana,Stephen,Louise, Danielle,Kate and not to forget Nicole the community sister! That's only to name a few.

My partner endured 72 hours of labor, and as we reached the final stretch, we were admitted to the labor ward. Our first midwife, Ellie, was a reassuring presence—warm, knowledgeable, and attentive. She took the time to explain our options, making my partner feel comfortable and well cared for. When her shift ended a few hours later, the transition to Polly was seamless.

Polly was incredible. Her attentiveness and professionalism made all the difference, and it was thanks to her keen observation that she noticed a drop in our baby’s heart rate. Without hesitation, she triggered an alarm. Of course, this happened during the brief 15 minutes I had popped home to pick up some things. When I returned, the room was filled with medical professionals, already putting a plan in place for an emergency C-section.

Even now, I get a lump in my throat thinking about that moment—not only because it was the most terrifying and joyous experience of my life, but because of the immense pride I feel in the NHS. Ben, the surgeon, took the time to explain everything to me with both clarity and compassion, putting me at ease during such a critical moment. He even followed up with us the next day, and you could see the genuine joy he takes in his work.

Ben, Ellie, Polly, and the countless other professionals who helped safely deliver our baby are the true heart of the NHS. We couldn’t be more grateful.

The team was simply amazing. They were swift in correcting a complication during the birth of my daughter. All midwives and OB doctors were very kind to me and I wish I could remember all the names and mention them, but midwife Dami Hall was exceptional. Very kind and tender and was simply the sweetest. If you ever come across this Dami, thank you again. Thank you to the Jessop wing team and the Whirlow ward team. xxx 🥰

Absolutely useless. I can now see why they have such negative feedback and a number of deaths, likely due to their lack of care, knowledge & interest in supporting their patients.

If you're 13 weeks with clots, abdominal pain & other symptoms, avoid calling Jessops, specifically the G1 wing, they'll likely tell you to go to your GP, even if the GP doesn't open for another 14 hours.

The staff here clearly lack the knowledge & compassion required for such a delicate role.

Just for clarity, we were told if the GP is closed we could visit the walk-in centre, so we called the walk-in centre for advice, who advised us to call Jessops.

We're now on our way to A&E as advised by 111 and can almost guarantee they'll try to send us to Jessops.

The whole thing is a farce, different information from different organisations and a pregnancy ward who couldn't care less about suffering pregnant women.

Terrible experience
Had a planned C-section here a few months ago.
Everything went well up until my baby was pulled out with a forceps! Not sure why (okay there was a reason) my baby was tiny as well anyway.

The consultant brought my baby up to show me and then dropped the baby on my face/pillow ! Very scary very shocking I was just lucky that she didn’t slip and fall on the floor 😭😭😭

I had been asking for delayed cord cutting (as much as possible in a c-section) due to this they had to cut the cord immediately not even giving the 1-1.5 minute delay , I was in the hospital for two days and one night, getting pumped with antibiotics due to this incident and had an extremely terrible breastfeeding journey as the antibiotics caused thrush and breastfeeding was extremely painful for months and it just won’t go away , with gp appointments, meds, … was just a bad start.

Being robbed of her delayed cord clamping and a healthy non antibiotic involved start!!

I Was very angry, annoyed, sad for a really long time….
