Maples very sadly failed to provide the care and support that my son needed and deserved when social services placed him there. My son died in 2022 within months of moving in, this follows a previous death in similar circumstances in 2017. I am therefore deeply saddened and shocked to learn of another death, seemingly in very similar circumstances to my son. Clearly there has been no improvement in their safeguarding procedures or in exercising a duty of care to their vulnerable residents.

I wish I could give zero stars as they don’t even deserve one. Clearly the on-site staff aren’t trained well enough or paid properly in order for them to deal with the vulnerable adults living in this accommodation as my brother was allowed to live in squalor and have his personal food stolen from him by other people living in the house. He then died in Maples accommodation and wasn’t found for DAYS. Not hours, days. Basic checks aren’t even made on these HUMAN BEINGS, such as ensuring they are alive! Family then weren’t notified immediately about my brothers death as the Maples didn’t have next of kin details! Beyond upsetting and unbelievable things like this are dismissed as just one of those things. Clearly no respect for human life. Don’t bother emailing Julie Matthews as she will meet with you and blame it all on your loved one. Absolutely no responsibility will be accepted by the Maples and nothing will ever change. If like us, it was completely out of your control that your family member is under the ‘care’ of the Maples, try everything you can to get them out of there immediately! I pray nobody’s family has to go through what we’ve had to suffer.

This "Supported Living" organisation does not Care or Support. My son Ben died in their accommodation of a drugs overdose undiscovered for at least 2 days whilst other residents and staff carried on as usual. No one noticed his absence. They do not communicate or update about any concerns . They do not notify you of changes to staff and in fact had no direct contact details for me his mother as next of kin. It doesn't matter how hard you try to get answers or fight the system you can't. His death was treated as an every day occurrence, not as someone who had a life to live and a family to return to. He was only 39 and had two children of his own to get to know once he had recovered. He was clever and intelligent but very unwell. The family assumed, very wrongly that his recovery was progressing well within The Maples, it wasn't. I am totally disillusioned and dismayed by the state of supposed supported living and how someone can die within this organisation and it does not matter to anyone involved in the so called Support. In my opinion they do not have an atom of emotional integrity. Observations from a loving Mother.

The managers at maples are disgusting and should get the sack. where its that bad, even the staff say they can do what they want and get away with it,which is true .I've been made to hand in my notice to leave coz they have made it unbearable to stay ,making me isolated from being able to even ask for support .They have made my mental health worst, sleepless nights, anxiety attacks ,not being able to keep food down caused by the stress they have put me under .Even know I'm now homeless and have no support network its better than being in this company that only care about money profit, instead of Vulneable people .If it wasn't from some of the staff I met in maples I would of left long time ago. After being emotionally abused and not believed even when it was clear that things wasn't right won't say no more.
You won't get better coming to maples only made worst.if you have any issues with staff please don't tell anyone especially managers
coz will make your life hell by taking your hours off u and put u on a double up .They will only punish you.But would like to thank you to Dawn Phillips,Shannon coles, vicky hope and briony for supporting me over the years
And the reason I didn't leave maples long time ago.Ali walker you should be ashamed of your self the way u just treated me your meant to be a professional worker ,.your lazy at your job anyway and shouldn't be a keyworker your disgusting go have a drink like u did at forest rd you alcoholic

Don't send your loved one to this place, unprofessional support workers as usual, government needs to address this problem, same accross the board, just profit making organisations living off the backs of vunrable service users, havenot got the skills to deal with situations in a professional way, can't get hold of any staff at weekends, evenings, no communication, this place over react to the point of over the top, if any unusual behaviour occurs, putting the service user under a lot of pressure and stress. Surely this is what to expect working with mental health and staff should be able to deal with it in a kind, caring professional manner. Not these people or place.

I have known a few clients who lived in a maples property near my house and the standards are poor . Mice infested property being the main problem and staff who put a lot of pressure on a service user several years ago which made her situation worse
