I visited this GP today and my experience was unacceptable. The receptionist, Claire, was rude and dismissive when I asked for clarification. She kept interrupting me constantly when I was speaking. She is not qualified to decide whether my condition is urgent—only a doctor can do that. I explicitly asked her to record my concern about the long wait for an appointment, but she failed to do so. I felt disrespected and dismissed, which worsened my depression and panic syndrome symptoms, as I am on controlled medication. My serious health concerns were ignored, and I was told there was no urgency and no appointment available for over a month.
The reception staff need to be reassessed for their roles, as they are extremely unprofessional. I also have the impression that they are more disrespectful when English is not the patient’s first language. This level of care is unacceptable!!!

The Professionals at this well respected Medical Centre are governed by funding available. They do their very best with the stretched resources available to them.

I have CONSISTENTLY over many years, found staff and Doctors to expedite matters as quickly as they are able to, to help all their patients.

9 April 2024 Again excellent helpful response from Practice Manger. I would not want to move to another GP Practice.

July 2025. Again friendly Reception Staff, pleased and grateful to Doctor and HCP

Well ud never think these doctor practices stick together and show discrimination....Well they do...just because I was deregistered from "REDGATE MEDICAL CENTER" THEN "CRANLEIGH GARDEN MEDICAL CENTER" And now "EAST QUAY MEDICAL CENTRE" they r being very judgemental towards me....just I was rude and angry....because I was so much in pain...and redgate medical centre lack of empathy dignity and respect 4 me...this isn't the end....as I'm seeking legal advice...about sueing this inadequate medical practices....and being totally discriminating against me...and not providing proper medical care 4 me....

I went to the reception today to receive a stamp on my MAT B1, because my midwife told me to go to you to receive it. I waited at the reception, asking each other what they had to do and in the end they didn't help me, they said they couldn't put the stamp on me. I spoke to my midwife again and she said that what they did to me was not correct and that she should give me that stamp. 2 years ago I received the stamp from you too, but this time you didn't want to help me and I have to go around pregnant sometimes with you, sometimes with the midwife... don't you have a system to talk to each other, it would be good! Tomorrow I have to go to the hospital, to the midwife community and I hope to solve it with that stamp. The people at the reception didn't want to help me or at least give me a reason why not?

Today I had a bad experience with the receptionist and this is not the first time.
About a month ago I needed to see a doctor for my son and I was booked into an appointment with about a month to wait.
Last week I went to the reception to have my daughter urgently seen for a skin problem and the receptionist sent us to the pharmacist because there was no space for a face-to-face appointment.
We went to the pharmacy and the pharmacist told me that maybe it would be better to be see by the doctor. Today there were my son's visit and I asked the receptionist if the doctor could visit my daughter instead of visiting my son because she was more urgent. She told me that it wasn't possible. The only thing she could do was book a phone call with the doctor. I explained to her that because it was a skin problem, she needed to be seen, but she replied that there were no face-to-face places. I replied that my son's place was available. That was what I asked from the beginning to her. She said, It too late. Result, I collected both children before finishing school, I arrived 25 minutes before the appointment, 20 minutes of queuing and talking to the receptionist and in the end neither my son nor my daughter were visited.
Sometimes in addition to the rules you need common sense and a little flexibility.
I would like to point out that I have always got on well with the doctors. They are very professional.
In my opinion the reception service is inefficient and not at all flexible.

My name is jamie-lee johnson I am the registered carer of my sister who was in for a mental health emergency appointment today 8th of January 2024, with one of your doctors who was extremely unhelpful, patronising, unprofessional and truly inconsiderate for peoples well being not only has she made matters worse for my sister within herself but also for with the matter she she had came to her for. The doctor had prescribed a medication that will be discontinued soon with no instruction on how to take this. My sister had expressed that some side effects she couldn't have due to her illness. She is under mental health team but due to moving she has had to get appointment with someone closer and isnt able to have this have until February. The doctor she had the appointment with tapped her on the shoulder as she was leaving and just told her to "think happy and she will be, it's all in her head" it was rushed and beyond professional! We should of done our research as the reviews has stated this many times with the doctors present and practice itself, this was a mistake on our behalf. However if someone could be in contact with myself as soon as possible with the email i have sent as instructed to do so by your reception team, that would be greatly appreciated. I will however be taking the matter higher as potentially people's life could be lost due to this fault and unprofessionalism your practice is showing to people with mental health illness. It's scary, people could die from this poor practice!!

Very poor parking facilities overcrowded due to Dr's, dentist and opticians sharing a very small space.
6 to 8 weeks for any appointment regardless if you have no immune system and have / had Leukaemia.
No understanding of the effects of total body irradiation must be my poor lifestyle and diet!
Only just getting EMIS and ICE and will claim to be remote, yet 30 minutes from a large city and surrounded by large towns, and yet Cumbria which is remote has had these 2 systems for at least 10 years.
Practice staff and nurses are actually really good and helpful, just watch out for the Dr's who will make up their own version of events and decide they know so much more than you and any consultant even if they ask did you have targeted radiation when my file says I had total body irradiation for blood cancer and transplant!
Also don't take anyone in for support or help with dates, illnesses or general info or your file will be marked that they answered for you, well duh yeah the radiation and chemo kinda destroyed a lot of things including memory function.
