Had a locum physician today and I must say she was lovely! I wish she was my doctor full time because she really cared and listened to me. She went above and beyond her duties by even providing me with equipment to dress my infected toe for once I had got home and washed it.

Was waiting for over an hour, after 40 mins I went to reception to confirm I had booked in correctly because the waiting room had emptied and then filled up again and I wasn't making any progress. The receptionist wasn't very forthcoming and gave no indication as to when I would be seen. Eventually I was seen and told the NHS probably couldn't help as its a minor problem but some clinics would carry out a procedure for between 1 and 2 thousand pounds.

I then asked for something else and was told I should go book it in with a nurse through reception. Back at reception, the receptionist told me I should probably see a doctor first so wouldnt book me in with a nurse. Also she couldn't book me in with a doctor so I should call in the morning to book an appointment. I had no idea that we now train receptionist in medical matters and they are the gate keepers to appointments which they really don't want people to have.

As a person who works I really can't just book an appointment the next day so I will go without again and maybe try again in a couple of months when time allows.
