I visited the emergency department today with a sprained ankle, and I was so impressed by the kindness and support from all the staff. Dr. Molly was especially wonderful—patient, thorough, and genuinely caring. She took the time to understand what happened, conducted a detailed examination, and made sure my X-rays were done carefully. I’m incredibly grateful for the amazing care I received from such friendly and dedicated professionals. Thank you!

The A and E nurses are very good , the cleaners are brilliant, porters and x Ray staff down side is the health care assistant or clinical assistant they call them on A and E are lazy. I'm band 5 nurse I was disappointed and disgusted with the level of service they gave to patients, if I was in charge I'd send them all on a disaplinary . 7 hours I was in there with my hubby when he was in with a suspected heart issue, I was that sick of them not helping the patients I started to help people.

Lovely staff especially Becky Oxley one of the volunteers who helps out , above and beyond to help me find chancellor wing, after getting a shock diagnosis, she put me at ease and helped me find my way to where I needed to be ,so kind and understanding wonderful woman thank you !!

Went to A&E with a broken wrist and within an hour I’d spoken to a doctor, had x rays and had it treated. At every step of the way I was kept informed, checked on and just really looked after. Every member of staff was polite, confident and did exactly what they said they would do. Really impressed with the quality of my free care. Bless the NHS.

I was admitted to Jimmy's A&E/SDEC, on the 20th August. Diagnosed with a large pulmonary embolism. After confirmation, of the diagnosis, I was sent up to Ward J10.

Due to being autistic, I was given a 4 - bed bay to myself. Unfortunately, there wasn't an ensuite bathroom; it's 2024, so why can't hospitals offer ensuites?

The staff, on the ward, were great. The food was just about edible. Due to having gluten/wheat and dairy intolerances, my meal options were limited, to say the least. One of the housekeeping team found a low allergen menu, but the dish I had ordered, for Thursday evening, wasn't available.

Even though the care was great, whilst on the ward, I had to beg to be allowed to take a 10mg dose of Nortriptyline, a medication that I take, which helps with neuropathic pain. For some reason, one of the ward doctors had prescribed Nortriptyline to be taken one, every 10 hours. Even though I was in great pain and the prescription had been changed, the staff nurse, looking after me, wouldn't allow me to have a 10mg tablet. Luckily, things were then sorted out.

When I spoke to doctors/pharmacists, about my medication, I told them that I take Nortriptyline, as and when needed. Some dressings were also prescribed, but were never sent up to the ward.

On the Thursday night, I checked my dressing, on my leg ulcer. When I did undo my dressing, which had been in place, since the 20th/21st August, the staff nurse, looking after me, was shocked. She managed to get some dressings and bandage and one of her colleagues cleaned the wound.

On the Friday, before I was discharged, the nurse, who helps autistic patients, turned up, which wasn't any good.

I dread going back into Jimmy's, due to lack of ensuite bathrooms; I don't like the thought of using a loo that's used by a number of people. Also, poor food choices, for people on low FODMAP diets, would also make me very wary of going into hospital. The trust needs to improve menus, for patients. Patients, should also be allowed to keep their medicines, to take when needed.

As for aftercare, it has been poor to say the least. I left a message, for the Respiratory Nurses, some weeks ago, but my call hasn't been returned. A nurse, from the Haematology Dept. criticised me, for having my main meal at night. There needs to be more support for people, who have been diagnosed with pulmonary embolisms and DVTs. I don't think the trust, or the NHS, in general, is all that bothered with providing good aftercare support.

I was shocked to see a Google rating of only 3.7 for this hospital which saved my mother’s life twice (sepsis and multi-organ failure the first time). Currently providing excellent care to my elderly friend who has multiple issues. All in a very understaffed and underfunded system trying (like the country) to recover from the ravages of 14 years of government by morons, now suffering the current replacement idiots.
Thanks to all the staff for sticking with a system in crisis.

Waited 7 hours in A&E vomiting in pain, no painkillers given. Eventually told I can come back in 4 days for a scan & pick up pain killers in the morning by the doctor. Nurse was helpful and found me some painkillers however.

According to letter given to my GP though, none of that happened. No scan referral, no drugs given, just sent on my way and I'm completely nuts. Thankfully the scan showed it was kidney stones.

Please fill in discharge forms correctly for once before you kill someone.

Can not fault this place at all. Visited during the junior doctor strike and best thing I did as I was seen by a proper consultant and the wait time was minimal even though I expected it to be a lot of hours waiting. Was referred the next day and seen again by another consultant and treated the same day. Absolutely amazing thank god for the junior doctors strike you did me a favour.
