I had a complex eye prescription - strong long-sightedness (+7 and +7.5), astigmatism, and presbyopia. Additionally, I’ve undergone three surgeries to correct squints and have worn glasses since I was a toddler (I’m now 56). Given these challenges, I never thought eye surgery would be an option for me. However, when presbyopia set in during my fifties, juggling three pairs of glasses (for reading, computer use, and distance) became increasingly frustrating. The final straw was learning that a new pair of varifocals would cost £1100!

I recently decided to have lens replacement surgery, and I am absolutely delighted with the results. My distance and intermediate vision are now excellent, and I only need inexpensive off-the-shelf reading glasses for close-up tasks - which is exactly what I was promised and had hoped for. And this is just two weeks post-surgery! The procedure itself was much quicker than I expected, lasting only about ten minutes. Thanks to the calm and reassuring competence of James Ball, I felt completely relaxed throughout. Every staff member at the clinic was professional, kind, and supportive, making the whole process smooth and stress-free.

Like many others have said, this has truly been a life-changing experience. From start to finish, everything was flawless, and I would not hesitate to recommend the clinic to others.

I was recommended custom vision clinic by a family member and I can honestly say that it was the best ever decision that I made to have my vision corrected.
Initially I was very apprehensive and unsure but after my first consultation, I was put at ease straight away. Prior to coming here I had been to other eye clinics where I felt that they wanted to push you into making a decision and never really wanted to know what your thought process was. With the custom vision team I felt that it was a very personal treatment plan and most of all there was no pressure to go ahead with treatment if you weren’t happy.
Their professionalism, warmth and genuine answers to any ‘minor’ concerns I had were quickly resolved.
Mr James Ball carried out my procedure and I was so relaxed and reassured throughout it all and the aftercare I received was excellent.
I regret not having it done earlier but I think the main reason for that was because of the mainstream eye clinics who simply put, cannot give you that personal level of attention and care as I received from custom vision. I would without doubt, definately recommend to all family and friends.

I received recommendations for Custom Vision and they have absolutely exceeded my expectations. Before surgery, my eyesight was poor and I needed glasses for almost everything. Custom Vision were quick to book me in and the initial consultation was very informative. With clear pricing and insights into the possible experience and outcomes.
I met with Mr Ball, the surgeon, before any procedures. This was reassuring and definitely helped in building my confidence ahead of the surgery. Other clinics don’t offer this introduction until the day of surgery, and this was one of my main reasons for choosing Custom Vision. In addition to their fixed pricing!! I had a high prescription, so this was the most cost effective solution compared to other providers.
After surgery in July my left eye has fantastic 20/20 vision, and I am scheduled for a top up to enhance the right eye further, as suggested during my initial consultation. The communication and care I have received has been marvellous and I therefore recommend Dr Ball and his wonderful team at Brahman 100%

The shear professionalism of all the people employed at Custom Vision was immense. The location is in a beautiful setting. The building is modern, the equipment state of the art and the whole ethos of the place has you feeling relaxed and at ease from stepping into the clinic the very first time. The staff I encountered be they at the front desk or the surgeon himself just made you feel you were safe and in a good place. I admit I was so very nervous about operations involving my eyes. But 100% I can say how happy I am now after my op and just how happy I was when attending clinics from assessments to ops to after care check ups. You just can’t get better service

I underwent 2 ICL procedures in October 2022 following a recommendation to use Custom Vision Clinic.

From the initial consultation, through to the surgery and post operative care, Mr Ball and his team have been exceptional.

This was my first ever surgery so I was somewhat hesitant in the lead up to my first appointment. However, Mr Ball put me at ease and answered the myriad of questions that I had before I decided to proceed.

The procedure itself was very straightforward and my vision was perfect the next day. I have had no issues since (1 year later) and I can (and do) thoroughly recommend Custom Vision Clinic to anyone requiring eye surgery.

Their aftercare is very thorough and I have been back on several occasions to check on my progress with no issues.

I had a very good consultation with Mr James Ball and decided to proceed with the lens replacement surgery. The surgery itself was very well explained from start to finish and Mr Ball explained everything that he was doing as he did it. The follow up appointment one week after with the optometrist to check my also excellent. I would highly recommend Custom Vision to anyone who is thinking about having their eyes done.
