Cataract Surgery - March & April 2024
From start to finish, my whole experience was positive.
A highly professional team under Mr Saldana carried out preliminary checks & preparation following up with surgery so gentle it was over before I realised and in both eyes.
Cataracts gone and near perfect vision as a result.

I took my mum for a procedure in the ophthalmology day surgery unit today. The service was so well run - a credit to the NHS. The staff were amazing ? thank you so much for looking after my mum

Be aware some services have moved. Turned up today for a specific scan, it has moved.
Also parking on site is limited, and would or will be better with some parking guides to help folk.
Bexhill was just the ticket before. 🙁

Took my mum for an Ophthalmology appointment today. Thank you so much to the lovely lady who was meeting and greeting and helped to put my mum at ease and also Martin and Maria who were very kind and understanding with my mum's concerns. Really very impressed with everyone we came across. Thank you

Had an appointment here, parking can sometimes be difficult, they do have disabled parking spaces outside the main entrance and there are other spaces available, sometimes however they are full and you can end up parking on the street. Today the parking wasn't too bad and there were spaces to park on the hospital grounds. They are still using masks and if you are wearing your own the person at the main door explains you need to swap your own mask with one of there's. There is also hand sanitizer in the entrance. I showed my appointment letter and was very kindly assisted on where I had to go. Very understanding about the fact I am deaf and went out of there way to make sure I understood. Hospital itself is spotless and very well sign posted to help where you are going. I attended the xray department, again very clean and friendly staff happy to assist with communication issues. Not once did I feel a nuisance to the staff in fact I was never rushed or made to feel uncomfortable. To be honest I can't recommend the staff I came in contact with highly enough. The hospital felt safe and I would like to reassure anyone who has an appointment here that the hospital is of the highest standards in all aspects of help, care, cleanliness and support. Also there are chairs outside if you are early for your appointment or if you have someone taking you they can sit down if the weather is suitable. Also there is a drop off point at the door of the hospital.

A sweet little hospital, cosy and clean, feels light and airy, staff polite and friendly.
Particularly enjoyed their choice of radio station - very soothing and calming - and beautiful elegant photos of old Bexhill decorating the walls.

Had 3 visits to sort eye issues. Great staff and Dr. Saldana is fantastic. 100% thumbs up.
I wish them well as the Covid backlog is now huge and the stress levels must always be high.
