My husband had an appointment with the wonderful Dr. Javaid today which I attended with him. What a 'breath of fresh air ' to be greeted by a very caring and kind individual. Her attention to detail and cheerful attitude was much appreciated.
We came away feeling we were in good hands. We are extremely happy to have her as our permanent GP. I just sincerely hope the work load and general stress levels of the "job " do not affect her .

Met my new Doctor who was kind, had time and respect for me; she explained things and was very thorough. In all I was very impressed. She put me at ease and was reassuring. Personally I feel it is rare these days to find a Doctor with such patience and understanding; she is a great asset to the practice. Ty.

First time meeting this doctor, greeted me with a handshake and introduction. Following an full health assessment and talking through my health issues. She arranged immediately urgent tests then and there. Completed prescription and other paperwork straight away. This was the first time I felt someone was listening and hearing my voice of my health concerns. I need to thank her from the bottom of my heart for her kindness, empathy and understanding of my underlying health conditions.

I met Dr Javaid for the first time last week and was most impressed with her manner and efficiency.
Dr Javaid greeted me warmly, introducing herself and that she will be my 'forever doctor' - I do hope so. She was friendly and professional.
Dr Javaid listened to my problem and appreciated my concerns, offering suggestions for management and actioning follow up, verbally recapping on everything we had discussed to ensure I had understood.
I can't thank her enough for her care and attention.

Demand is huge for this practice. Not enough GPs, and patient list much too long. Absolute lottery for acute on the day phone calls/appointments. Call at 0830 on the dot - be in a queue of 2 or 60 who knows? 5 mins waiting or 90? No way of differentiating needs of people waiting in the queue and when the appointments are gone they're gone. Someone with a rash might have got the last appointment, ahead of someone with terminal cancer who needs urgent help... not a modern way of working...

That being said, when I have needed care I feel it has been of a very high standard. All of the reception and clinical team I've interacted with have been friendly, professional and knowledgeable, and I've always got what I needed. And there are improvements making life more efficient such as engage consult.

The problems I feel exist at this surgery are not unique, and are widespread in primary care.

My experience today with Dr Javaid was very positive. Quick, professional, helpful, got to the point quickly but still allowed space for me to talk - an asset to the surgery.

Today was my first time meeting the new doctor at Downlands Medical Centre, Doctor Javaid. She greeted me with a warm and friendly smile which immediately put me at ease and made me feel comfortable. During our consultation she continued to be approachable throughout, answering questions and explaining thoroughly. She seems like a very genuine and caring Doctor and a welcome addition to the Downlands Medical team.

Dr Javaid telephoned me today after I had written a request to her for some blood tests. She assured me over the telephone that the tests I had requested would be put into action and I was really happy with this. Its so nice to have a doctor now that I feel listens, unlike my previous doctor there who emigrated to New Zealand.
