Just back from a day in A&E the only thing letting the place down is organisation, staff walking around calling peoples names and then having to track them down is a total waste of time and a joke in this day and age.

The staff and doctors you can’t fault. The woman who took my blood was brilliant, very supportive and upbeat, when she didn’t have any patients to deal with she was out in the waiting area helping people and even tidying up, obviously not her job but what a star.

The young doctor who saw me was brilliant going above and beyond to put my mind at rest a total credit to the Eastbourne DGH.

Thank you

I have just returned from a night at Eastbourne A + E department after being admitted feeling quite dreadful. I cannot fault the staff there. They were very attentive, professional and checked my condition regularly. The night staff were wonderful and I’m now resting at home with medication. Hadn’t been to an A+E dept since 2008 and you hear stories of people left on trolleys etc but I had brilliant treatment. They are a credit to the NHS. Thank you to all from Tracey in number 24

I have just been treated for cancer at Eastbourne District General Hospital and could not have been better cared for . The operation, which involved removing my breast, was undertaken by Mr Sangle who I highly recommend. He was very ably assisted by a brilliant anaesthetist who ensured I suffered no pain or after effects.

Have recently used EDGH having had blood tests, ultrasound scans and meetings with consultants after being referred by my GP and have been really pleased at the thorough work all staff have done in my diagnosis and treatment. I must also praise staff at nearby Conquest Hospital endoscopy/ Bexhill diagnostic community centre and the Royal Sussex Hospital for CT and PET scans. You have been marvellous. Thank you.

I have just been discharged after a 5 day stay on Friston ward. The staff and the care I received during my visit was nothing but exceptional. All the staff treated me with kindness and care throughout my stay. From a past experience I have a fear of hospitals the staff at the DGH has made me rethink my fear and have given me my faith back in hospitals. I will never forget all the staff that looked after me and will be forever grateful to all that did. From the bottom of my heart I thank you all for your hard work and Compassion!

I work in a London hospital. Had to take a 79 year old friend to A&E at Eastbourne. Arrived at 10 at night. Were seen/dismissed by doctor at 6.30 in the morning. Receptionist just about polite. Doctors without compassion. My friend is a retired medic. Same patiens we saw when we arrived still there when we left. Will take a cab to London next time for urgent medical help

There are 2 multi-faith rooms in the hospital. Level3/ green zone. Muslim sisters can use the first one on the right / Muslim brothers can use the 2nd one on the right. Friday Jamaa prayer is held at 1:15pm.
Very helpful and kind chaplaincy team available for help. You could ask them for an Imam if required.
