Decent gym & spa, however people are always talking when trying to relax. Old men shouting to each other across the steam room. It’s supposed to be relaxing, Waterside need to do more on making sure these spaces are quiet. There’s 2 of everything, one could be social the other quiet, keep both sides happy.

Moved here from David Lloyd in Cheadle. Cleanliness of the facilities and quality of food is much superior at Waterside. Reception staff are a lot friendlier and management have been a lot more responsive to suggestions/any issues. It's a very friendly place overall - far fewer entitled "look at my car" types 😂.

My 4yo loves the pool here and the floats which are always on standby. Spa facilities are very good, not really much different from DL on that front.

Restaurant/cafe quality is consistently good and decent value.

Nicer place to work if you need to than DL - spacious and airy function room reserved for folk working remotely, plenty of of power sockets.

Changing rooms are a bit drab, but are being refurbished so will reserve judgement on that front. Automatic lockers so no need for your own padlock (which is great as I am always forgetting them).

It's true there are no tennis courts or outdoor pool. But in every other respect it's a much better proposition than David Lloyd, for about 1/3 - 1/4 the price.

Please please pleaseeeee can you clean this place properly! The variety of facilities provided are so good. I ALWAYS see a cleaner in the changing rooms but the place is filthy. The price goes up regularly but it still feels grubby. They've done a cool redecorate of the main gyms recently, but didn't fix the roof leaks that have been there for the last 3 years as part of that so what's the point?! Please hire more cleaners.

The spa was by far the best bit and the actual reason I booked the hotel. The spa and steam rooms etc were brilliant and very clean.

However I booked a king size room and it’s safe to say it’s no bigger then a single room. I wouldn’t like to see what they class as a basic or double room. I got 6 coat hangers behind a mirror and never got a wardrobe or anything. The drinks aren’t cheap either, £22 for two gins was crazy. The lady was cleaning (hovering) and the bar area looked closed (10pm) then I asked if it was open, she then dropped the hover zipped off her coat and then said yeah what would you like, not quite the service I expected. But the room, seriously don’t book a king size you’re just wasting money if you think you’re getting luxury. We didn’t even get gowns, and considering it’s a spa hotel that baffles me. Also the bathroom was tiny. I’m giving 2 stars just for the spa and friendly receptionists.

On the one hand the staff here are great. Always friendly and helpful. The hydrotherapy pool and swimming pool are good and the cafe sells nice ginger cake.

On the other hand, the gym is spaced weirdly over several levels, making training disjointed. During busy times it feels very claustrophobic. The equipment is ok.

Not sure it is worth the relatively high price of approx £60. I don't think it's worth being double the price of your average leisure centre.

I joined the gym and spa.
I was shown round and made to feel welcome by a friendly gentleman called John, who was very informative and answered all my questions.
I was taken a back by the size of the place. It's massive and has excellent facilities.
I've never seen such an extensive gym, it has so much equipment over several floors.
There is a very large swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms, hydrotherapy pool, recovery area.
They also offer many keep fit classes.
Excellent value for money.
Thee best and biggest gym I've ever been to, I can't see any other leisure centre in the area competing with this place.
Free gym inductions.
All staff are welcoming and friendly.

They pitch themselves as a high end gym but they're really not. The adjustment pin on most of the benches is broke. The showers are really low end and need renovating. The whole vibe of the gym isn't really for serious lifters. More so aimed at elderly people. I originally joined when it cost £50 a month on a corporate membership, then within a couple of months it increased to £55. Now I'm on £60 a month. The best part about the gym is it's 24 hours which is why I initially joined.

Trained here for just over a year. Facilities and equipment are fine for the most part, but it just gets too busy. This isn’t the fault of the management, but is more because of the lack of good gyms in the area in general (Nuffield is the only real competitor for anybody living in Didsbury).
