Well I was admitted in here August 2011 what I was going through was one thing but the staff members didn’t really help either as I was highly confused and not crazy. I am not afraid of labelling certain staff members as they were all equally horrible as I was afraid and I assumed I was living in a nursing home but it was a psychiatric ward. I couldn’t tell the difference. There was a manager or staff member called Sam he was bold and very mean to me. There was a nurse called Tracy she was at times weird and assumed I did everything deliberately. Other staff I may have confused with people I knew in my life and I was accusing some of doing things to me in high school. Hayley Upton I was wrong it wasn’t her but I took out all my frustration on the wrong Hayley at the time. Any new medication I was allocated they would just ignore it and carried on giving me my blood thinning injections as I was pregnant and also happened to to miscarry whilst in there as I wasn’t eating or drinking properly. For a very long time I wanted to say to point out I wasn’t crazy in fact a whole month was wasted and I felt like I was dying, turned out if I wasn’t there and in the medical side maybe my condition that I have couldn’t caught earlier. When I was seen by medics in September I was taken of a psychiatric drug and eventually I had many complications with everything such as complications with organs, all cells such as white cells, red cells and platelets were all dropped, my potassium levels had dropped occasionally. Basically I became very ill and indeed the doctors said something to my family - she might not survive ( found this part out when my mother used to tell other people my story) I was only 26 at the time and the doctors didn’t give up In Manchester Royal Infirmary. I was in High Dependency Unit as I was extremely poorly unresponsive to certain drugs given to me. Eventually they had discovered and came to a conclusion it was catastrophic attack. It took
Me in total of seven months before I came back home in the following year in Feb 2012. All I want to say is sometimes patients who have never been sectioned off before may have a different story and they may be harmless. Staff members in moorside unit should be more friendly not always the patient is considered dangerous. Yes when you make the patient vulnerable and make them believe it’s all due to them this has happened to them makes them take a worse decision. Looks like even now this unit has gone from worse to bad.

There was another male staff I may have done something incorrect as I assumed it was my husband. At the time my husband made me think about it even though I was highly confused and he was also a horrible person which I am no longer with. All I like to say is sorry that I caused that staff member and the female staff Hayley stress and frustration. I clearly didn’t recognise myself as I had an awful journey as being married and trapped in this kind of hell for a month and nobody ever believed that I was dying.

When my renal doctor had mentioned in my outpatient clinic appointment in 2012 told me we Nearly lost you four times ( yes my kidneys were damaged to drugs I shouldn’t have taken in the first place)

Psychiatric unit
Please listen to the patients needs if anything did happen you will be sued. Also I would like some kind of apology for the mistreatment I had received at the time whilst being in this unit. It’s been over 13 years now as I never had the confidence to say this back then. You may have cleared my medical records as after 7 years it goes out the window but I will never forget your faces ever

Staff member Lisa who wore specs

She was also mean to me when it was very windy I just wanted to sleep nearby as I was too scared to sleep in my room alone.

You work in the NHS you should all be very nice doesn’t matter which department you work in. All I can say is you are wrong, as I never came back as I am not crazy!

Absolutely terrible ward. Daughter Arrived to a room that was supposedly cleaned, bedding was sodden in urine, dirty knickers on floor, blood on wall and in grate. Care is diabolical, her named nurse which she should have seen regularly wasnt anywhere to be seen for 2 weeks, then we found out she had completely filled in a questionnaire on behalf of my daughter which was completely incorrect as she hadnt actually asked her anything, she made it up. They ‘couldnt’ make my daughter plain sandwiches, all had mayo or something on, so she never ate lunch. Her corridor constantly had urine on from another patient which always took hours to clean up. Her medication changes were always delayed because correspondence was diabolical. She contracted ringworm whilst in there and it never cleared because the nurses were terrible at giving her a simple cream for it. I have 2 parking tickets because the ipad to sign in for over a 3 hour stay isnt available past 4.30pm!?! Her room got robbed by another patient because the nurse she asked to lock it didnt do so. She managed to self harm in there 3 times under their care, once drinking liquid soap, which still wasnt removed afterwards, one with a chewed up coke bottle and they didnt look for any more of it, but her Nana found it hidden above her door. The psychiatrist in there was a disgrace, not ever listening and going for the easiest options all the time. Not given a discharge note so cant even appeal the fines I have been given as I have no proof she was on the ward. I would absolutely love to name drop all the terrible staff and also praise the very few good staff (the good ones werent the nurses, but hca’s etc) I could honestly go on, it was 5 weeks of absolute hell and I feel for any patients in there.

The bed management team are shocking. Had ward round in morning and then 20 minutes later told i was discharge and dump just to get me out of there i was placed in an guest house in Stretford and there is mold up the walls god know what stains up the curtains and on carpet so so much more. I have so much pictures of the place. An major complaint has been made against the bed management. So if anyone has housing issues plesse please do not trust the bed management.

This review concerns Irwel and Medlock wards only - i cant comment on the other wards.

I stayed in this unit about 6 years ago and the staff here 100% played a MASSIVE part in saving My life. Big shout out to Ade and an Irish older gentleman nurse who worked on Irwel ward here. They were almost like family and despite me being off My rocker always were professional and supportive in the best way they possible.

They have so much to deal with and they honestly are heroes. The ward allowed my family to visit daily and regularly and were incredibly supportive, it's such a tough job they have, can't thank them enough.

Shocking never any staff , Poor hygiene , people all mugging each other and getting beat up the staff don't even bother to help you . It's embarrassing 😳. Don't make me laugh and say you will change the place ?
Please actually bloody do it and start by changing the shower as its one temperature 🌡 which is too hot .
The amount off times the police attend this place is a disgrace also .

How many times does it take the staff to understand ?
I don't like this place it's unhealthy the way its going I wouldn't be surprised one day ... If it got shut down!
Some staff here bully you and pretend to care when really , They don't. I have epilepsy and the staff here aren't barely trained in epilepsy and that's a disgrace because most seizures I have go unnoticed by the nurses /Doctors then they blame me for crying or being in pain . Don't ever trust people here unless you want something dangerous to happen !

Horrific unit. Nursing staff team together to steal from patients. Abuse of older patients. Mocking and laughing. Drug trades on the ward. No supervision. Leave patients to die. Horrible place. Don't ever let your family go here if you want them to come back safely

Suicide hospital!!! PLEASE AVOID. My sister was sectioned due to sever depression, she has been in the hospital for 20 days without drinking and eating. The staff keep lying to us. Each nurse contradict one another. They are refusing any one of us to get in to see her and check on her. We understand it's Covid but at least we expect the hospital to be honest and sympathetic with families!! And giving us an honest feedback about her health condition. But this isnt the case, the last thing they actually said' well at least she is breathing' I am shocked and not sure how to take that. Are they waiting for her to die and then add her to the Covid list ? She was better at home and at least if her health was getting worse she is among us, rather than dying alone neglected by the
staff! Utter disgraceful. Please don't send your loved ones there. They are awful and liars.

Under staffed, unclean wards, especially Bollin and Greenway. My 72yr old mother was here twice, I was devastated that she had to live on these wards for months. The food is especially awful. The last years of her life or anyone elses should not be spent in these conditions
