Great practice I have had nothing but exceptional service from them. Recent consultation with Dr Sheppard-Hickly I felt she went above and beyond to get the right outcome for me. All the family gets great service from Whittaker Lane. Would highly recommend.

I asked for a doctors appointment. I was told by the receptionist. good luck with that and she gave a smirk. if I told the inland revenue good luck with that when thay ask for my ni contributions what would happen.

Very disappointing that Askmygp is no longer available.I'm assuming they got rid of it to reduce the workload as now there are only limited telephone appointments that one can book online & once they are gone they are gone! I tried Patientaccess today to book a telephone appointment after waiting in a queue on the phone yesterday for 45 minutes to no avail.Today i selected presumably the last appointment because i filled in the box for symptoms & when i submitted it,it said my slot was gone so your appointment isn't secured until the box is filled in & you press enter so someone else effectively can take your appointment from under your nose & there is no indication when you select the appointment initially it can be 'stolen' from you until you press submit. What a shambles of an online service that is.I have no idea what time one can even access appointments online? is it 7am as it conveniently doesn't tell you?It's now the weekend so there are now no more telephone appointments until Monday when I will have to be like lightning to try & secure one.Edited to add please open a window in the tiny waiting room upstairs as it's very uncomfortable already being in so close proximity to people who maybe contagious or at least use a doorstop to keep the door open in the hallway to let air flow through.Edited 10/4/25 I had an appointment with Aimee a few weeks ago and she said to me you're the first person i've seen today wearing a hat.Why would a staff member comment on someones appearance like that.I have social phobia so it made me more self conscious that people were thinking it was odd i was wearing a hat.I expect staff in a medical setting to have more awareness of people & not make personal comments on their attire as it's not very professional at all.

This practice is a shambles , they are putting lives at risk , unable to get appointment . Even do Asthma reviews over the phone. Phones are not answered and today they have messed my medication up! Been in 3 times today to sort this out feel very frustrated! Incompetence at its finest. Looking for a new surgery .

Had 2 appointments in the last few months with my baby. Spoken to the same day by GPs and both times needed referrals which were done very quickly. Excellent care from the 2 doctors we have seen. Debbie the practice nurse has also been excellent!

On the last two medical occasions when I have called for an appointment they have told me to go to the pharmacy who were unable to help me as advised.

This uses to be such a good surgery. It saved my life on one point. But the last few years it's gotten so bad. Can't get appointments for anything. I know the NHS is on its knees but there's got to be sme way you can at least get on the phone to someone.. been trying for days every morning and can't even get through. Calls don't connect, get dropped as you get to the front of the line.. it's soul destroying.

A once wonderful GP that seems to have fallen prey to privatisation.

Before, it was simple to walk through the door and book an appointment - now you have to have to go via private provider to check whether or not the kind of appointment you're looking for is 'free.'

It made my blood run cold seeing £ signs next to certain treatments.

There was once a time when you could simply ask for an appointment and allow your GP to assess what the issue and go from there.

Now, you have to self-assess (even if you're not entirely sure what your issue may be) and the 'Private Care' option tells you 'just go to this place - they charge £xx for that.'

This is why the NHS needs protecting.

I give two stars, because when I do manage to get in there, the staff are lovely - it's just a shame what's happened to the place.
