I came to work at Barton Brook about six months ago on the maintenance team. I knew when I applied for the job there had been some issues in the past. However with new management and key staff standards have really improved , the home is well- led and I have been fully supported with projects that have enriched the life's of our residents and improved the appearance and standards of the surroundings.

I started work at Barton Brook in March 2024 as an RGN / Unit Manager.
I knew of the previous issues and historical concerns that Barton had faced at the time of my employment.
I can honestly say that it is an absolute pleasure to work there. Things have massively improved and I might sound a tad impartial as an employee but my Mum passed away in a nursing home only last year and I as a relative would happily have placed my mother in Barton Brook if she were still with us.
All the staff go above and beyond, residents and relatives alike are now giving such positive feed back as our external professionals who visit.
Please just look at our current reviews in Carehome.co.uk.
Everyone from the Home Manager, other Unit managers, to the care staff, nurses, nursing assistants, senior carers, maintenance staff, activity coordinators. domestics, the kitchen staff and laundry staff work very much together as a team.
Nothing is ever too much trouble for anyone from any of our departments. .
If you are thinking of placing a loved one, please just organise a visit or just drop in and you will see for yourself the massive improvements that have been made and the happy vibe that the whole home resonates.
I consider myself extremely lucky to work there with such amazing staff, residents and relatives .
Thank you for taking the time to read this review.

My dad was a resident from May until September this year. There were numerous problems from the start, constantly reporting same issues to management. Dad left in soiled clothes, untrained agency staff who did not know how to deal with dads needs. Dirty room and bedding. At one point he was left without any bedding. Items bought for private use went missing. The last straw was when he was admitted to hospital with sepsis. It took staff 5 days to act to seek medical help even though I’d already raised concerns about him being unwell. I feel sorry for the regular staff who are caring for the residents but they are overworked. They need to recruit more permanent staff rather than relying on agency staff . In my experience the home is badly managed.

My grandma is a resident in Brindley Nursing. The regular care staff care for my Gran very well and I feel she is treated in a person centred way. My Gran tells me the food is great and is encouraged to eat being offered a very varied diet.
I feel the new owners are trying to improve the decor of the building wich in areas are a little run down.
Domestic staff are lovley and my gramas room Is always clean and smells fresh.

If there was an option for zero stars i would have chose that. Absolutely disgraceful management. My mum was a resident here. She passed away in hospital on the 23rd December 2023. She was rushed into hospital on the 22nd and family were never notified until she had passed. I've now made a formal complaint.
