My kids got eczema and can’t sleep well recently. First I called them on 27/12/2024 they told that they can only take emergency cases. I though it’s because of Christmas holiday period so I tried to call again on 30/12/2024. They thought this was not emergency case so they helped to book at Silverdale which I couldn’t understand so I missed the appointment. I called again on 31/12/2024 and they told that they are only handling emergency cases again. I questioned if it’s because of holidays but the lady on the phone told they have such arrangement for 2 years. The lady on the phone thought I only want to take the hydrocortisone cream repeatedly but the real situation is that my kids can’t sleep due to eczema. If the Lake GP has such arrangement, please make sure the staff has the ability to ask precise questions so that they can understand the real situation. Secondly, the emergency department in the hospitals is really for emergency. If GP only takes emergency cases so where is the place for handling normal cases?

Receptionist attitude is disgusting, rang at 8.15am,finally got through after 23 times trying to speak too someone.Had an appointment at 9am but told receptionist I was at work and cannot leave as I work alone,I asked politely if she had any appointments after 3pm when I finish.Rudely told ‘I cannot pick and choose my appointments’ basically I’d have too ring again tomorrow morning? (Just too be told the same thing) or take the day off in the hope they have appointments available.I have various health conditions and the very next day I ended up in hospital.

Possibly the best Doctors surgery EVER. Nothing is to much trouble given their chaotic work load. To many people are quick to criticise the NHS as a whole and leave entitled angry reviews, however they are working at full capacity with limited resources. Many thanks Sharon B (and everyone else).

I really can’t fault this practice. I was very unwell and was lucky enough to get an appointment the same day. The receptionist who took my call was very helpful and understanding. As was the receptionist on the front desk , was polite and helpful.

I have always found everyone at this practice to be very helpful and prompt when dealing with any enquiries, doctors and nurses are knowledgeable and understanding. Yes it can be difficuilt to get an appointment, but that is the same everywhere.

I have been misdiagnosed and misinformed multiple times by 2 doctors and the first contact Physio at this practice. I have now decided to change to a practice where patients are listened to instead of spoken over. I initially went in with severe back pain in July and the doctor gave me Zapain which done nothing to relieve my symptoms. I ended up in a&e less than 2 weeks later. I then went back in and was told by doctor mason I had “chronic back pain” which was not true. I ended up paying £350 for a private mri which revealed multiple issues with my back (disc degenerative disease osteoarthritis a bulging disc and sciatica). I went to the first contact Physio who told me to continue with private physio and electrotherapy would be the way forward. Today I went back to the first contact Physio as I had a bad spasm in my back the other day which left me unable to move. He told me not to go to private physio as he didn’t think it was helping due to how stiff I was (this is connected to the spasm on Saturday not the physio I have had!) he also asked if the physio was just doing electrotherapy and when I said yes he said it wouldn’t work!!! This is what he initially recommended. I am living scared that my back could go any minute and the professionals at this practice do not care one bit. I am disgusted with the constant fobbing off I get and have chosen to leave this practice. I have never needed the doctors here before as I don’t suffer with my health but now that I do need them they have let me down massively. I would not recommend them to anyone

Surprised to see some poor reviews as I've never had an issue with the surgery. I've been a patient since 2015. Yes sometimes it can take a long time, and many calls, to get a same day appointment. But this is the same at all surgeries! Whenever I've needed an emergency appointment I've always been able to get one.

I do recommend the Online Consult for none urgent appointments. Whenever I've completed this I've always had a response within 48 hours and either had follow up telephone consultations or face to face appointments.

I have never found any member of staff to be rude, they have always been helpful.

I do have a fair few medical conditions, and it has been one thing after another over recent years and all members of staff at the surgery couldn't have done any more to help me.

The only issue at the surgery is car parking, they do only have a small car park, with additional parking available on nearby residential streets. Living only a few minutes walk away though I do try and walk to the surgery as much as possible.
