I just want to say thank you for amazingly speedy service today. I contacted the surgery this morning and had a call back within half an hour; I was prescribed an antibiotic by the doctor from the Southmead and Henbury practice and I received the medicine 35 minutes after the phone call. Is this a record? I have contacted Well Pharmacy too.

The physiotherapist told me I didn't have a problem with walking and using my leg and that I had been 'conditioned' to not walking normally. She couldn't get me out the door quick enough 7 minutes out of a 15 minute appointment. 11 months later after many referal appointments, I had a total hip replacement. Not impressed with the physiotherapist's attitude, it felt like I was being 'told off' for not trying. Didn't even bother to assess me. Otherwise I would comment that this is a service under great pressure and you really have to push for what you want and always double check that appointments have actually been made. It you can't work the technology, it isn't easy. I would also say that everyone else I have dealt with trys hard for you and the GPs go above and beyond their allocated workload, for which I'm very grateful. Thank you for this

Receptionist is extremely rude and refuses to help me or try to arrange an actual appointment with a doctor. I have to use an AI-powered form and wait for a call several days later to be offered an appointment, and even then I’m not allowed to see the doctor apparently. This practice used to be great (same day appointment always!) but has gone down hill with now over a week of waiting time even for urgent issues! Receptionist needs some training as to how not to be unkind to patients who may be in vulnerable situations.

This is a terrible surgery. The practice partners and managers don’t care about patient well being. They ignore requests for data accuracy in their medical records that are important. They deny patient care when instructed by medical experts to provide basic medication to help with symptoms. They guilt the patient for pointing out omissions and errors and use medical has lighting, insulting behaviour, demeaning comments and body language. They ignore symptoms so that the patient has to pay for tests and obtain clinical data privately to make there a point. They refuse to issue the medication needex and if you raise a complaint they project blame and refuse to acknowledge your complaint. I could write a whole lot more - but it’s about as bad an eg of patient care focused only on box ticking - without any dignified empathy, consideration or respect. I was shooed away when giving valuable information. The system is broken and this Practice shows it in spades. They don’t care about patient care - we have moved into a cult operated beaurocracy of hostility, death and disease for profit. What happened to the Hippocratic oath? Enter at your own risk.

Rory the HCA really went above and beyond for my son who had to have a blood test. My son is SEN and has a needle phobia and really struggled, but with Rory kind words and calm approach we managed to get it done. Monks park need to hold on to this member of staff.

I have been a patient at this surgery for 27 years and I only have positive things to say. The reception and admin team are very welcoming, they lend a listening ear and are so helpful. The doctors and nurses are brilliant and are willing to help as much as they possibly can. I have never had a problem with getting an appointment and find that the receptionists are very flexible with the types of appointments that I can get due to work commitments. Thank you everyone at Monks Park Surgery.

Disgusting staff on the phone, my wife has tried to sort out a doctors appointment for our 2 year old and ends up getting talked over and told her not to both. Very rude staff. Will be taking my daughter elsewhere from now on.

Myself, my husband, our baby and my sister have all registered at and visited this surgery since June 2018. While, at times, there may be a wait of up to 30 minutes, the care we have received from the nurses, healthcare assistants and GPs has been excellent. I have never been unable to get a same-day appointment for something that needs assessing quickly, and find the reception staff refreshingly welcoming and helpful (after bad experiences elsewhere). No, I won't always see the same GP when I book a same-day appointment, but if I want to book an appointment with the same GP, I have been able to do so in advance (in as short notice as 2 days). The locum GP staff in that time have also been lovely, it's a shame when they move on.
