My father has been here less than a week. The improvement in his health and wellbeing has been nothing less than astounding.
We have visited many times day and night and every time there has either been a carer in the room with him or one arrived soon after with a cup of tea or juice.
The emotional support from the management team in admitting my father was incredibly generous and greatly appreciated.
The clinical care team have also been amazing. I feel there is a genuine care and concern for him. It is hard to express my enormous relief and gratitude. Thank you all so very much.

My Nan was cared for impeccable well at this lovely friendly care home.
Her room was lovely & well maintained.
My Nan was well looked after. All the staff were lovely with her and us when we visited. After a terrible time in hospital, this care home was just want my Nan needed. She never had a cross or bad word to say about it or it's staff.
As much as our family didn't want nan in a care home, we found that this place to be actually just what my nan needed as we couldn't give her that level of care at home.
They will forever be June's angels

Amazing care home my beautiful nan ❤️ was a resident in this lovely run care home and the care my nan recieved was amazing right through to the end, they went above and beyond for my nan. Can't recommend this care home enough.

My mother has been at The Forge Care Centre nearly a year now. I have to say that all the staff there give the best care that they can provide and they really do care about my mother and all the other residents. Lovely welcoming atmosphere. It is very much person centred care that the home provides. The NA's and Nurses are very good communicating with me regarding my mother's care, appointments etc. The staff also keep me informed of any activities or day trips that are taking place and that I can also attend.
My mother has Dementia and things were getting too much for her at home, she was not eating and drinking much at all and sleeping a lot, generally going down hill, deteriorating fast.
Since she's been at The Forge Care Centre I feel my mother has thrived.
My mother now has a good appetite, she is drinking much more, she is also awake more often and smiling, laughing and chatting with staff and residents.
I feel my mother is very happy there and this makes me also very happy and comforted that she is cared for.
So all I can say is Thank You from my heart.

The worst care home possible I would strongly recommend you don’t put your family in this place. Management are useless and rude. My grandad who had a stroke which brought on dementia went to this care home for a short amount of time. Which seemed great at the start but soon went down hill from there. The staff were just leaving him without showers for 4+ week and when we asked for them to contact us if he had refused they said they would but didn’t. He was left in dirty clothes not washed or clean. Staff would not communicate to us at all. There was one instance were he fell out of bed. Family were not made aware and we found out days later when my grandad told us himself. My grandad has recently suffered another bad stroke since being there. Paramedics who came to the home were disgusted in what they seen and told us the staff members (Tamara) changed her story and lied multiple times. Paramedics have put a safeguarding in against this place and evidence is to follow. Staff had left him for 15 hours and not checked on him. Although they are saying they did hourly. stroke expert consultants have said the extent of his stroke was definitely not checked hourly and it was at least 15+ hours he was left. He was completely paralysed not able to speak or swallow. This doesn’t happen within a hour! This has resulted in him now passing away! Legal action is in the process! And this so called care home will NOT get away with this!!

Utterly awful place. I would not recommend anyone to put a loved one in this place. My Grandad was here for a short time and suffered from dementia and had also had a stroke (which brought on the dementia). He wasn’t showered for over 4 weeks and was left in the same clothes for all this time too. He suffered a huge second stroke while living here and wasn’t checked on for over 15 hours (as identified by specialist stroke doctors). The care home staff have repeatedly lied to us and claimed he was checked hourly, this is clearly a lie because he was left paralysed and unable to speak after this stroke ( I’m pretty sure that’s something you would notice if he was checked). We were then contacted by paramedics not the care home staff who have since put a safeguarding concern against this home because of the neglect they witnessed. My grandad was placed on end of life care and died in hospital 2 weeks later. This could have been prevented and he would still be here today if they acted fast and DID THEIR JOB. This is now a legal matter and will be taken further. Incompetent liars, management just hide away. No communication at all when we asked them to call us if he refuses any care, they didn’t just let him go 4 weeks with no shower. Health service ombudsman are investigating, you will not get away with this!

This care home is an Absolute disgrace, my mum was here a few years ago and she was given the wrong diet resulting in her choking on 4 separate occasions. Not being washed and in dirty clothes which I questioned the manager daily, she assured me things would be sorted, obviously she's was a liar and absolutely useless, so through serious safeguarding concerns, far too many to list, i moved my mother the next day, so many
Wrong doing in that home they should have been closed years ago,
. When I took mum out of there she said I'm not going back there am I, I made a promise that she would never ever go through abuse ever again.

I have visited most of the Homes in Cardiff and this is by far the best .
My Dad was here in 2012 andwhen my Mum needed care i had no hesitation in bringing her here .
Staff are fab and caring.
