My mum/mother in law has been a resident at Sycamore Lodge since January 2021. At 95 years old, she is now unfortunately living with advanced dementia. I have regular contact with the staff as I live in Andalucia in Spain and are unable myself to travel. The staff are always most professional and polite in their manner and give me good, honest updates and feedback as to my mum’s health and wellbeing. They speak of her in a caring manner. This is a great comfort to me to know that she is well cared for, living in a pleasant environment and therefore having the best out of life, even when her behaviour can sometimes be a little challenging! She enjoys the gardens and particularly the musical events.

The residents are treated appallingly. Personal belongings get stolen, by staff, on a regular basis. People in charge are arrogant and do not care.
Yes, serious accusations - of serious misdemeanors - backed up by a family member of another resident. May I suggest that you do call the Police in, as you, most definitely, have thieves working for you. Failing that, I'm happy to call in the media - and we know you've been there before!

My mother (June W.) was looked after by Sycamore Lodge in Nailsea for a number of years due to her suffering with vascular dementia. The team at Sycamore delivered a wonderful personal service and were kind, considerate and thoughtful throughout. During these terrible Covid times the team remained positive, despite the invisible nightmare they were up against. I have nothing but admiration. Five stars from me, huge thanks and a virtual hug.

My Dad , John S (90) , was transferred here from Southmead Hospital to recover after suffering a broken arm after a fall at home. He spent 11 weeks in Miller ward. Everyone from Receptionists, Manager Barry, Nursing & Care staff and even Cleaning staff were professionsl, friendly and caring .He caught and recovered from covid here and has since returned home to live semi-independently.

My mother was abused here, Jeremy Nixey or Peter Jeremy Nixey as he's sometimes known is the director of this so called care home. He worships Mammon and seems to care little about the residents of the home, interested in protecting his reputation and just comes up with illogical arguments to defend poor care. A very cold and arrogant man.

I visited this place for my mothers care some years ago, but didn't like what I saw, and disliked the manager, after reading the newspapers and a recent magazine report of the abuse, I am so glad that I never put my mother in there, she is being well looked after in Brunel Care, this company needs to take a leaf out of their book.
