I am new to the surgery and needed a GP appointment.
My experience was really excellent, the administration staff were polite, kind and helpful and I got seen quickly and efficiently.

Amazing, thank you. Was apprehensive about first econsult on Tuesday.
Phone call from Receptionist who clearly explained the process.
Blood test Wednesday morning, (would have been Tuesday if phlebotomy could fit me in). ECG on Wednesday teatime -very kind nurse but can’t remember her name.
Face to face appointment with Dr Horn on Thursday who was thorough & very reassuring. I am so grateful. Thank you.

Dr Kedward is a credit to the profession. He’s meticulous and skilled. Whenever I’ve spoken with him he’s made me feel listened to and hasn’t infantilised me. He gives weight to your own judgement on your own body which is not something all doctors inherently do. I’ve had some rough times over the past couple years in relation to eczema and depression and he has alleviated this substantially.

Since the only way you can get a GP appointment is to fill in an overly long online form, the surgery has been awful. There’s never any appointments close to when you need them, the slots they do have fill up within 5 mins of being released (if you’re lucky), and the GPs who read them often don’t even want to see you - simply fobbing you off with a pharmacy ticket that doesn’t solve the issue. Even if you are lucky enough to see a GP at this surgery, they’ll happily misdiagnose you because the next time you manage to get back in after whatever you have has gotten worse, you’ll be seeing someone completely different. The new system simply doesn’t work. A shame because it wasn’t always this way.

We signed up to the surgery recently as our previous GP closed down. We are very dissatisfied as a family. My father has been in need of a mental health review which keeps getting bounced by the surgery. He is literally telling them he’s a suicide risk and they are doing nothing. Further more my sister recently tried to book in because she has been worried about her heart rate abnormalities and breathlessness (key symptoms for very serious diseases). We knew it was her asthma in need of a review because her medications are no longer effective. But we were told ring 111. Upon ringing 111 we were told to go A and E. absolute nightmare. And after this her asthma review was done over the phone. Arham specifically you need to listen to the chest sounds, to hear the wheeze. I’d be surprised if technology is at the point where you can place a stethoscope on the phone and listen to chest sounds. Feel completely let down.

It's so hard to get an appointment via System connect at Goldinton avenue surgery. It mainly comes up with Union Street and that's too far for me to go. I also can't understand why you can only book for the day you're using it, not the following day even though the option is there but it doesnt work!!. I spent all day trying to get an appointment on Friday but it wouldn't allow me to book one in advance only for the day!!. After waiting in a queue on the phone to the surgery for ages, I was told the system doesn't book advance appointments, even though it shows that option. The system really needs be tweeked so it's not so confusing and annoying!

I had the worse experience with Heather Filby. My son was seriously ill and she failed to listen to any of our complaints as parents on 2 separate appointments. We saw another GP and it turns out that he had an ear infection and glue ears on both ears. We have an appointment for him to see a specialist to discuss operation. Heather Filby has no care of duty toward patients. She is always in her emotions and does not pay attention to her patients.
