⭐ 1 Star – Absolutely Shocking Service

The service is an absolute joke. The new e-Consult system is causing chaos—after waiting three days for a response, you're told to call for an appointment anyway. What’s the point? The practice can’t even handle basic admin requests properly, let alone provide decent medical care.

Seeing the same GP twice? Forget it. My case has been passed between five different practitioners, and my issue is still unresolved. No continuity, no proper follow-ups. Need a repeat blood test? That’s another three weeks.

This system is failing patients. The delays and disorganization are unacceptable, and it feels like nobody is actually in charge. If things don’t change, people’s health will suffer. Avoid this place if you can.

Now… I already knew NHS is a joke when it comes to the general well-being of people seeking for help, yet having met amazing doctors that want to make a difference and will always help, I thought my boyfriend would have a chance of getting treated. Hope was maybe too much to have when it comes to this medical practice, as my boyfriend booked an appointment complaining of chest pain and excesive coughing, wanting to receive the right for an X-RAY/ a chest scan to see what might be wrong with his lungs.

After the first appointment the doctor said it’s nothing, he might have asthma but will give him the chance to get an X-RAY. One hour later he receives a message saying they discussed the problem among themselves( among the doctors) and an X-ray will no longer be needed at this time, but he should make an appointment for an asthma test. He did book this appointment that was about to be ONE month after the initial one.

He was feeling worse by the day and I took him to another doctor, out of the country while we were in vacation. At this other doctor, he was diagnosed with a very serious disease, for which he could not start treatment there unfortunately as we did not have documents to stay a long time. Fast forward to our immediate flight home, he had already called and emailed NHS more than 6 times, and eventually received an appointment just for it to be cancelled as we were driving towards the doctor. Mind you, this is a very serious disease, that left untreated could lead to many other complications, including DEATH. Did the medical practice care? I assure you they did not, as their answer was to wait. Wait for what? Maybe wait for his lungs to get other cavities in them or maybe for blood to come out of his mouth and for an ambulance to be called directly.

I advise you to not waste your time with these incompetent people, or maybe have the luck to be in the care of another doctor who actually will be interested to help and not just get his pay check and leave.

A busy practice and it’s clear that the staff are doing the best that they can in the current climate. I’ve dealt with two GPs and a physio for a complex shoulder injury and all have been caring and competent.

Incredibly long wait times for female health services. It has been over two months and I’ve been advised this is now standard at Mendip Vale. I strongly recommend choosing another practice.

Mendip Vale do you not realise e-consult does not work!
People that are ill would find it difficult to complete the e-consult online form!
People that are not computer literate can't complete an online e-consult form!
People living with dementia would have major problems filling out the online e-consult form!
People with learning difficulties would be unable to fill out an online e-consult form!
In a nutshell, people that are ill, are living with dementia, have a learning difficulty, are not confident using a computer or just find this ridiculous form difficult to fill out, are all pretty much excluded from getting an appointment at your practices.
We are not just patients we’re customers as well and deserve more than just e-consult.
If there are other options, your staff never mention those options when talking to them about requiring an appointment

Zero confidence in them.
took our boy in quite a few times recently as we could tell something was not right. We suspected an infection but each time we went in we just got fobbed off and told to go home and give him paracetamol/nurofen.
After being so frustrated by them we paid for a private appointment and drove all the way to Cardiff. Our boy was diagnosed with having bronchitis and now being administered with steroids and other medicine to help him.
Medip Vale are a disgrace and should be investigated.

Mendip Vale should be struck off. We need a new doctor invited to take up residence at the Congresbury surgery. Congresbury was always for years an excellent surgery, until mendip vale managed to take it over so they could shut it down. Now, I sit in a queue for 30 minutes on the phone just for them to tell me to fill out an econsult. The econsult told me I need to phone and speak to a medical professional. 30 minutes of waiting later they decide I have to go to the Pharmacy, where the pharmacist looks confused and a little bit embarrassed that she is being asked about something that, in her words "I Don't know what they expect from me, because I am a Pharmacists and not a Doctor" and agreed to refer me back to actually see a doctor.
Utterly farcical. If it wasn't healthcare, it would be a hilarious sketch in a Monty Python episode.
Three days later and I have still heard nothing back. I hope if I eventually get an appointment that it will be in Yatton, because at least the 45 minute walk to Yatton surgery has pavements, so although taking about the same distance to travel to as Langford, I am significantly less likely to be run over and die. Very glad I'm not old or infirm, as the walk to Yatton (a villiage without a single bus service) would be impossible. I think technically there is a bus service in Yatton, so elderly patients seeking a doctors appointment would have to get a bus into bristol, and one of the service of one or two buses a day that go to Langford. Inexplicably, despite having worked so hard to take over our Congresbury surgery, Mendip Vale are not offering transport to patients who miraculously do manage to get an appointment with their GP somehow.
Mendip Vale must be struck off and its senior figures banned from working in healthcare in the UK.
Congresbury surgery must be reopened and be an excellent surgery where you can phone and get a same day appointment without any ridiculous hoops like it was in the 90s and 00s, before these incompetent vandals took over.
