Sadly, the manager of this company hasn't changed his spots from past reviews! He takes things very personally if you make suggestions or try & have any influence regarding your relatives care. Additionally he can prevent your relative from returning home from hospital whilst bartering with & demanding more money from Social Care. When challenged or angered the Care package is then pulled, with some half hearted excuse & apology, leaving you high & dry. A month is rarely enough time to try & find another care provider, meaning there is then further upheaval having to put your relative in to a Respite home to await one!
The girls who do the care are great & there is very little criticism directed at them. Naturally over the years there has been a few relatively minor issues. Some of the girls we, & particularly our Mum, we give huge thanks to & will really miss, & it has been quite an emotional goodbye.
I can't apologise for the poor rating as
I have been very conservative with my summary due to there being other legal matters currently pending, which can't yet be commented on.

Poppy’s homecare is an independent care company which provides domiciliary services across North Somerset.
From the initial first contact with the office staff, through the assessment and on throughout the service provision the package of care is tailored to the needs of the client and the needs of their support net work.
Accepting care and support can be a massive transition and can feel overwhelming, the POPPYS carers are hand picked to match each client’s requirements and where possible their personality.
A Careplan is drawn up together with a member of management , the client and their advocate, if required.
Having the physical careplan at the property aids positive communication with other Agencies such as the district nurse, paramedics and even family with the clients consent, the details are also entered onto the office computer system and can be accessed or amended immediately.
Over the years many of the clients have joined Poppy’s through family and friends recommendations including ones from other professionals such as District nurses / Social Workers
Many clients think of Poppy’s carers as their second family, Poppy’s carers know the clients extremely well and able to advocate for them , supporting their ever changing needs and promoting independence at a safe level in a professional and proficient manner and providing support through any further transitions to hospital or supported settings.

Let first say that the carers who help me daily were great couldn't ask for anything more.

So why I am awarding it 1 star basically treated like a piece of rubbish by the manager.

After 6 weeks of home care they terminated my contract out of the blue over issues which could have been resolved easily if the issues were made aware to me

And to top it off the manager gave me 7 days notice.

7 days notice to find another home care provider or a nursing home to take me on, what a joke

Would just like to say how rubbish this company was for my nan. I have to say that the ladies that went in were lovely, however, the man that spoke on the phone with my grandad and mum was rude. He has now taken away the care and my Nan is going into a nursing home! This is appalling!
Would not recommend them to anyone.
