It saddens me, to see the decline in Gp practices o since the epidemic. Gone are the days of caring family doctors, who knew your history. This practice is absolutely terrible, I cannot believe you cannot make an appointment in the surgery. You are fobbed off with e-consult, and you may get an appointment within 2 weeks if your lucky, and then probably with a nurse rather than a doctor. At a surgery many miles away, within their group, rather than the surgery you are registered at. I was with this practice since it opened, and have watched it decline over the years, and I don’t think it can get any worse, but it probably will. I am now with another practice, who arranged me an emergency hospital appointment, on day 1 of registration, which is what mendip vale should have done 3 months ago. If you want caring staff , and regular appointments, don’t join mendip vale!

Extremely biased doctors. Seemingly not at all educated on fibromyalgia and cfs/me. Multiple doctors have medically gaslit me. When I’ve tried to explain how much I was struggling and how limited my mobility is, they would repeatedly doubt me, downplay my conditions and the impact they were having on my life.

They would constantly imply there was simply nothing they could do except recommend pseudoscientific nonsense “treatments”. Now I have moved surgeries and my new doctor was shocked at the previous lack of care I received and has put real plans in place to actually help me.

Do better mendip vale.

Called this morning and got through at 8.03. Didn't make me an appointment but put me on the urgent care list. Called back at 8.25 and asked to come into surgery at 9.15. The practitioner I was booked in with was busy but I was able to see someone else. Left the surgery just after 9.30. Everyone I deal with at the medical group from the initial phone call to reception staff and practioners are always polite and helpful. On this occasion I felt the service was particularly great and wanted to thank all the staff I spoke to and saw today.

Told me for 4 years that my periods were 'normal' and I can't make any decisions because I'm not married and have no children. Moved to a different part of the country and finally got diagnosed with PCOS and pending fibromyalgia. Not to mention the fact that the doctors messed up my treatments so much, I nearly had a stroke due to many different forms of oestrogen they put me on. They are a medical malpractice case waiting to happen. Also don't bother complaining, they will say it is a doctors version of events against yours, so will fob you off. That's why my complaint of a doctor not listening to me wanting to end a cervix exam early due to pain and carrying on, essentially left me traumatised. ALWAYS take a chaperone with you

This practice gets worse and worse, we cannot get morning appointments on the day now either by phone or queing outside for 8am. They are only taking urgent appointments at 8am but they will be some time in the future and at any location.
They only otherwise accept econsult appointments and that can take a week. Don't know what elderly patients or those who can't use Internet will do.
I think they are trying to stop seeing patients completely, they must have too many patients and not enough doctors

I previously gave the Surgery a 1star review over the mishandling of my wife’s care. Over the intervening period since that review we have found that most services provided by the practice have been excellent. In particular the nursing, nurse prescriber and support staff provide a wonderful service. Sadly serious fundamental errors are still occurring, such as the letter recently brought to our attention from a hospital consultant that instructed the GP to arrange an ultrasound scan for my wife of a 5cm ovarian cyst that the Consultant Radiologist was concerned about. That letter was dictated in Jan 23 but dated and sent in May 23, but as of today Aug 24 no action has been taken by the GP to arrange for the scan. It begs the question are these letters being read before they are filed or, one has to question the competence of the person reading them. I can see a letter being drafted to the CQC.

You're lucky if you get through to anyone. If by some miracle you do, 9 times out of 10 the appointments have gone. And now, to not even be able to book an appointment is beyond me. To have to fill out an econsult, which previously I've not even had a response from before, wait 3 days for it to, potentially, be looked at before you're even spoken to about booking an appointment and then wait for an appointment... the mind boggles. You're talking weeks before you can speak to a doctor and when I questioned this with reception today I was told you can always ring 999.
Hardly a responsible use of emergency resources when you only need to see a doctor.
Safe to say I'll be looking for a surgery who actually deal with patients.
