I always enjoy my performances at Memory Lane, Age UK's Dementia Hub cafe, that runs every Friday 10.30am -12.30pm at Community House, Bromley. It is a friendly, social atmosphere lots of attendees with lovely volunteers offering tea and cakes! When I am invited to play we have a sing song and often end up dancing. I'm asked for all sorts of music and I always feel so welcomed and appreciated. I thoroughly recommend popping in to try it out.

I go to Women in Sheds in Penge (part of the Men in Sheds project) and it's fantastic. Not only teaching us how to use power tools and make beautiful wooden items, but it engages with the local community, taking commissions and enabling members to establish new connections without the usual contrite awkwardness associated with projects for older people. A great project!

Their Women in Sheds and Men In Sheds (Penge) projects are fantastically well-run, and great fun to be involved with. If you're over 50 and want to learn how to use power tools, make useful and beautiful things AND hang out with like-minded people, this is where you go.
