Looked after my late grandfather who recently passed and the care he received and the communication between the staff and ourselves was outstanding can't thank them enough for what they done and how well they looked after him and the continuous support and thoughtfulness they gave him near the end was just on another level of service and I'd say don't go for the rest when hillcroft is the best

Please beware. My Mum went for a week’s respite in this dreadful place. It was short notice and we didn’t have a lot of options. When we had to extend her stay by a few days they ran out of her medication, instead of contacting us to deal with this they simply stopped giving it to her. The staff then told me that when she said she hadn’t had it it was because she had forgotten, using her dementia to cover up their incompetence.

They did not help her with her hearing aids, despite my repeated requests. She was distressed and crying every single day and was left in her room alone for much of the time she was there.

My complaints have been answered with a list of things they will do to make sure it doesn’t happen again and an assertion that because my mum didn’t suffer a decline in health because of the lack of medication (her life was absolutely at risk without it for multiple reasons) then essentially it doesn’t matter and their “policy” has been followed. So it seems their policy is to ignore a lack of medication, not contact relatives and their contract around duty of care and safeguarding is not worth the paper it is written on.

I would not allow this place to look after my dog, let alone a relative.

ALL the staff are kind, caring and thoughtful. That includes the manager, carers, caterers, laundry people, cleaners, maintenance people, the activities lady and anyone I've accidentally missed. They were all so wonderful with the care they gave to my 88 year old mother during her 3 month stay. Mum left Hillcroft looking better than she had done in 2 years. It's just a shame that we needed to move mum to a care home closer to her family.

2023. Home seemed short of staff. Often I led patients back to the common room and found no staff in there. Also, if a family member stays there DO NOT send them with anything of value or that you value as it will go missing. A watch disappeared never to be seen again and a brand new pair of slippers, worn once.

My mum been with caring home 2months now. I have total respect for all the caring team. I can go anytime I wish, and all the residents are happy and cared for, I now know alot of the residents in the home and talk to all, it is a home to home environment... I've seen my mum at her worse and you calm the situation down.. Totally 100% hats of to you. YOU ARE ALL AMAZING XX THANKYOU.
