9 years I spent here and although I dearly missed being away from my family, friends and society due to being a "Psychopath".....they clearly couldn't keep me there forever.
4 years at Ashworth too, but this was due to politics about some of my strong opinions...
Rampton can be kind but cruel at the same time - depending on who you know or what you know, what you did do or what you didn't do.

Didn't know Rampton Hosp was still in existence. My sister was there in the 70s & she saw abdominal things going on there. She had ECT many times after many breakdowns. She died at 60 in Ealing Hospital, formerly St Bernard's a few years ago, a free woman, after ½ a century in various institutions. All of that just because she was labeled maladjusted at 8yrs old. ?

Lovely comfy bed,instead of wallpaper on my walls I had thick luxurious padding which made the room feel really cosy.i even had straps on my bed so I didn't fall out how considerate!!! Excellent food however I did find half an ear in my tomato soup but was easily sorted out staff were lovely and kind locked my door behind me and looked after the key can't really fault this place I would highly recommend staying here

The staff at this hospital that treat patients with learning disabilities with total disrespect should themselves be administered with drugs/medication.. locked up in cells 24/7!!! How can they go home and sleep at night when they cause such pain and misery to other human beings? Shameful and disgraceful!!

I was unsure if I would like it here , But after a few days, I've got to say its the best b&b I have ever stayed in , A little run down but the staff was really helpful . They made sure I was really safe , They locked my door every time so no one could rob my gear , How considerate of them . Its far better than Bupa , They have 24/7 medics on site & the vitamin tablets are the best I've ever had ,
Would recommend to my friends
You don't even have to be out by 10 am on day of leave

Nice staff they took care of me whilst i visited, lots of activities within the complex, i mostly enjoyed meeting new and exciting people. It definitely exceeds its competitors like Broadmoor.

I would make the same comments I have made for Carstairs in Scotland and and stated to make for Broadmoor before my phone went on the blink. Places like Rampton the need to exist to keep the public safe. I have much admiration the for the staff in all these hospitals. They are the general the unspoken staff in the NHS who are rarely mentioned in the media unless someone with a high profile is admitted or some one escapes. I understand Rampton the is now operated for a female population along with Southall in West London. Broadmoor the and Ashworth the on Merseyside house men. While Carstairs the has a mixed population along with patients from Ulster.
