Great beautiful Architecture. The magic Comes alive at Night and the serenity suits it's hospitality, a particular part at the top of the building makes it looks like it's a Jacuzzi from outside, don't know if it is not how to get there, I'm always too busy to find out when I'm around. But I bet the worker's would have a different perspective though, cos I tend to find out the more Complex or beautiful a structure/institution is, the equally more expensive, complex and Difficult it is to Maintain or Work there.

All the staff from Porters to Surgeons work soooo hard. The care I’ve received over the past 30years since being diagnosed with a life changing illness has been top notch. I wouldn’t be here to sing their praise if it wasn’t for their hard work and expertise. Yes just like anywhere there is the odd staff member that should definitely be in a different profession but 99.9% of the staff are absolutely amazing. Thank you ❤️

Had reason to visit Primary care via 111 with my teenage son.
He was seen very quickly and the thoroughness of his treatment and care was immensely impressive.
The staff were professional, thorough, reassuring and kind to a fault. Their communication was clear and concise with very good after care advice too.
There is nothing that could’ve been done to improve our experience.
Thank you

My experience of Kings Mill has ranged from awful to wonderful.
It’s the luck of the draw depending on the day of your visit and the department.
Having had an unpleasant experience on a Sunday, I returned to X-ray department on the following Friday.
The difference between the two was mind blowing.
Dr Smart and Lia in X-ray department (and Kirsty) I salute you.
You reminded me of how the NHS used to be many years ago with kind, caring skilled professionals.
Thank you. You are most appreciated.

Staff at this hospital are great it's a shame the admin part let's this hospital down. Sending out appointments and cancelling them same day and not telling patient. I personally spent over£40 travel costs and 2 hours travelling to be told they had cancelled my child's myopia appointment. My advice call day before to check you still have an appointment

I would give -100 considering how they are treating emergency for babies from 8 days to 3 months old. 0 interest to see the babies as soon as possible, you spend impossible hours with a sick child hoping that someone will come and see your baby. It's an appalling behaviour and empathy is down the drain. If it weren’t the only A&E in the area, wouldn't even go to it. Keep your babies as healthy as possible because this hospital's emergency departament will not help you in your time of need.

Initially rang 111, as I had been having some dental problems, which I would never attend A&E for normally, but my throat had began swelling, along with my cheek. Due to the throat swelling, I was finding it more and more difficult to breathe as time went on.

The dental expert on 111 referred us to A&E and said we needed to go, so we did, as I was also in extreme pain, along with the breathing issues. We arrived at 10pm.

We were seen in triage relatively quickly, although all they did was take my blood pressure and temperature. We were then sat for another 2 hours waiting to see a doctor, during which my condition got much worse. By this point, I was in and out of consciousness, and struggling to breathe even more so than before. My mother reminded reception of the state I was, and the lovely woman there did follow it up with the nurses, and said we would likely be seen soon.

Another hour later, we are still sat there, and at this point, I can barely keep myself up. After my mother spoke with a nurse about the state I was in, they did move us to another room so I could sit more comfortably, as the chair back was long enough to keep me upright and make it easier for me to breathe.

At around 2:30am, I am taken for a blood test. They do not tell us why they are doing this, and by this point, I am too weak and delirious to ask. They take quite a bit of blood from me, 3 vials.

After this, I throw up, as I was already incredibly weak, feverish and sick. Luckily, considering the pain I had been in this week, I hadn't eaten much, so there wasn't much to throw up.

I am then sent back to the room once I have stopped being sick.

The nurse says it should only be an hour or two for us to be seen now I've had blood tests, as there's only 4 people in front of me. Okay, fair enough, I've been here for nearly 5 hours by this point, so I commit to staying until I am treated.

Hours go by, and soon enough, it's 6am. I still haven't been seen, nor has anybody else in that room, who have all been there just as long as I have, if not longer.

Not long after 6am, a nurse comes in and lets us know that there's another 9 hour wait. By this point, I am exasperated and exhausted. Not only am I still struggling to breathe, but I have been offered absolutely no pain relief, nor has anyone even spoken to me to ask about it.

I break down in tears. It has been nearly 9 hours of sitting in pain and waiting by this point. The not-so-lovely nurse decides to comfort me by frowning at me, and going "Well, there's 17 people in resus right now, so".

Now, I absolutely appreciate this, I am aware that there are people in worse states than me. If she had stopped there, honestly, it would have been fine. However, she continued to berate me as though I were a child who didn't understand how busy hospitals were. I am fully aware of the fact that it is a big hospital and lots of people are worse off, but at the end of the day, I am a human being. And I was in excruciating pain and struggling to breathe, still, after 9 hours of no support, help or even any information. I am bound to hit my limit.

The nurse, however, just continues to talk at me, repeating her points about how many ill people there are in the building. I keep repeating "I know, I know. I'm sorry, I'm not saying there isn't [ill people who need help more]" and she keeps going, until I eventually just give up and leave the room sobbing.

I go home after that. Not only can I not wait another 9 hours, but I cannot stand being berated when I'm already clearly in a state. Clearly poor training or something, because I don't know why she couldn't have just said "I understand how much pain you must be in, I'm sorry," and that would have been that. By this time, I decide I'd rather have my throat close up and die in my own bed than be insulted for not being sick enough.

Overall, horrible experience. 9 hour wait, no treatment, and the rudest nurse I have ever met in my life. Do not go here unless you have limbs hanging off or are quite literally on your deathbed, as they will not see you.
