If you have the misfortune to be allocated a bed here make sure you have good insurance and your relatives visit every morning and afternoon to check on you and your property.

My father was transferred here from the LRI after a hip fracture. Yes, the hip has now healed, not that you'd know as the patients seem to be kept in chairs or on the bed for most of the time, and thus they lack the physical exercise that strengthens muscles. They get some physio each week but despite visiting on several days at at time, I never saw any.

But worse than this is the lackadaisical attitude to patients' important support devices such as hearing aids and spectacles. In the 2 months my father was at this hospital they:

1. Lost the clothes he was admitted with.
2. Lost a very expensive hearing aid.
3. Somehow crushed/smashed another hearing aid.
4. Broke a hearing aid from a replacement set.
4. Lost the other hearing aid of the replacement set.
5. And finally somehow managed to get his spectacles on the floor where they got crushed.

Oh, and during a lapse in supervision, he fell on the ward and ended up in the LRI requiring a head scan.

So, for a patient with dementia they have managed to take away what remains of his ability to see and hear - both of which are critical for slowing the decline as well as letting him fall and bang his head.

Really disappointed with this place, I feel very ashamed, I was recommended this place via 111 as I had chest pain and upon arrive it was very clean, polite reception and everyone was smiling which was great to see. However the doctor I saw out of hours doctor in the Olympic t shirt was immensely rude, I had to practically beg him to look at my paper work and even show a little interest in his job. I feel like my race had a huge play in this also, I don't understand why he's in the job if he isn't interested. After traveling upto there he basically said go to A&E Not even a goodbye or hello. I had 5 words out of him the entire time he really didn't care. For future patients go elsewhere.

Recently I had a spell of around five weeks at this hospital. Whilst there was excellent care given by the nursing staff, the attention from the physiotherapy team left a lot to be desired. I had previously spent two months confined to bed in the Leicester General and then Leicester Royal as I was being treated for a Lymphoma growth pressing on my spinal chord. During this time the muscles on my legs weakened. I was declared fit to return home on a medical basis, however as I was no longer able to stand or walk unaided, I was sent to Hinckley and Bosworth Community Hospital supposedly for rehabilitation.
This was not forthcoming with no plan being put in place for my physiotherapy treatment and no regular sessions taking place. When I complained about the lack of attention I was told that under their contract they were only required to work two sessions a week with me. In the last two weeks I was there I had one session, albeit this was around Christmas time. The physios don't work weekends and the lady who appeared to be organising my sessions, didn't work Mondays either.
I never knew when they were going to come round, they would just suddenly appear and spend 20 minutes with me and then go again.
If you require physiotherapy rehabilitation then if you get the choice you should go somewhere else as you are unlikely to make much progress here. They appeared to put more effort into trying to get me discharged than into helping me get more mobile.
I am appreciative of the fact that I have been provided with the use of a wheelchair and had various equipment put in my flat to assist me whilst I am recovering, however due to lack of co-ordination between Hinckley and Bosworth Hosptial and the Community Care Programme, I have gone a month with no further physiotherapy treatment and it took an urgent referral from a Social Worker before the Community Physiotherapy Team made contact.

Just had a brain mri outside in their mobile unit , staff were very good and efficient but please bear in mind if you are claustrophobic then don’t use this one as it’s one of the smallest and oldest machines I have been in and I felt very panicky in it and wasn’t able to finish. I now have to rebook where I know I can cope with their bigger machines .
