Nice hospital for forensic mental health, the hospital needs to improve with its staffing levels on the floor, too many opportunities are created for the administration department not focusing on the patient care on the floor. It appears staff are burn out because of being short staffed and this as a result pose a risk to the entire unit. Too many foreign workers recruited who lack professional standards and haven’t been exposed to health and social care in the past. A lot of improvement needed on the management side of the unit. There’s institutional racism perpetrated by staff who have been recruited because of nepotism. A lot of family relations and friendship relationships has made the unit toxic. A lot of administration needs to be attended by CQC making sure everything is handled appropriately.

I am a medical student and I completed my elective placement at Arnold Lodge and it was the absolute highlight of my medical student journey. The multidisciplinary team vibe at Arnold Lodge is incredible and patient focus is both inspiring and endearing. I cannot recommend Arnold Lodge more highly!

I’m a medical student & I did part of my elective placement at Arnold Lodge. It was a great experience - I was given many interesting opportunities and felt very welcomed into the team. I highly recommend students to come here it was absolutely brilliant!
