I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Christmas Day at The Van Harrogate, and it was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff's warm and welcoming demeanor set the tone for a wonderful holiday experience. Every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure that our day was nothing short of perfect.

The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the food. The Christmas meal was spectacular, with each dish meticulously prepared and bursting with flavor. The variety offered catered to all tastes, and attention to detail was evident in every bite. It was clear that the chefs put a great deal of effort into crafting a memorable dining experience.

The service was impeccable throughout our stay. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that our needs were met promptly and with a smile. Their professionalism and friendliness greatly enhanced the festive atmosphere.

Overall, The Van Harrogate provided a magical Christmas Day that exceeded all expectations. I would highly recommend this hotel for its outstanding food and service, especially during the holiday season. It was truly an unforgettable experience that I look forward to reliving in the future.

We have rated average for the following reasons. Having booked a three night stay and knew the cost we were paying was above average, we did expect more of a five-star experience rather than three stars.|Yes, we were earlier than expected for check-in, and we were happy to wait the 20 mins in the bar the receptionist suggested this would take. Incidentally costing £14.00 for the privilege. The receptionist assured us that she would bring the room cards to us. Over 30 minutes later, we returned to the reception only to find a stern gentleman who firstly told us we had not paid when we had, and the receptionist had gone to lunch, leaving the key cards on the desk instead of bringing them to us as promised. We had booked a deluxe double and requested a lower floor. We made our way to our allocated room, which we were told was one of their best rooms at the far end of the corridor on the 2nd floor. First appearances. Yes, nice room facing the front of the hotel, but when you walked anywhere in the room, the wardrobe and all that was in there moved due to loose flooring. Yes, the building is old, but the people below and in the adjoining room must have been disturbed every time we moved around. This is our third stay at Du Vin Hotels, but this particular hotel we feel is ready for a refit, especially the worn carpets along the hallways that need replacing.|Our checkout bill was in excess of £600.00 for B & B.|We felt this could have been spent better elsewhere.

Stayed here whilst at a concert. We arrived early and were so lucky our room was ready. We had a Deluxe Room overlooking the Stray. Huge comfy bed, spotlessly clean, great walk in rain shower. Unfortunately the towel rail wasn't working but it wasn't an issue as we were only there for 1 night. Lovely bar with plenty areas to sit and chat with friends. They now do a " Happy Hour" well it's a few hours on selected drinks which is a great addition. Breakfast very good with prompt efficient service. I love their granola with berries and yoghurt. Probably stayed here about 10 times....and we will be back!

Booked this hotel for my partners birthday for two nights. Some really nice parts to our stay but disappointed with the standard of the room and the enthusiasm of the staff.||We arrived early hoping just to park and not expecting to check in at about 1pm. To our delight room was ready and we checked in early. There was a lack of information and clarity from reception staff as to where our room was located meaning we trailed through the hotel looking for our room, to be then told once approaching one of the waitresses in the restaurant, that we had to go back out the main doors and down to our basement room from the exterior of the hotel.|We had the Raimont basement room, which was below what we expected from the pictures on the website. We had a dog bed, bowl and treats at the foot of our bed, which would have been fantastic if we had a dog with us. |Due to our room being directly below the restaurant, we were awoken several times during the night, and particularly early around 5am with the sound of trolleys getting wheeled about setting up for breakfast. That being said, the breakfasts both mornings were excellent and couldn't fault them. |The second evening we decided to have an early drink in the bar, where we had the delight in meeting an inebriated ‘Jason’ who introduced himself. Clearly not a guest staying in the hotel, just bounding around with his shopping bags and Harry Potter scarf on being rude to staff and interrupting other guests as they had evening drinks. ||The final dagger in the back upon check out was the £30 parking charge for the 2 nights. When paying £361 bed and breakfast, you would think parking would be included. ||I’m sure many people have had fantastic stays here and other rooms within the hotel are much more pleasant and quieter than the Raimont basement room. ||Both my partner and I loved harrogate, shopping, bars, restaurants, but probably won’t be back to the Hotel Du Vin.

From arriving to checking out our stay was very enjoyable. |The ladies on the reception were fabulous, so welcoming and friendly - a great first impression! Our room was very comfortable and lovely and warm on our arrival. The bed was so comfortable and we had such a great nights sleep. |We ate in the Bistro and the food was absolutely delicious and could fault any of it. The waiting staff were all lovely and friendly . |The only slight negative was service was a little slow , the mains took just that bit too long to arrive after the starters were cleared, but the wait was worth it as it was all so good! |The bar area was inviting and the cocktails were outstanding, no weak, sickly sweet cocktails here, instead cocktails prepared perfectly where every ingredient could be tasted . |The decor and furnishings were very tasteful but there were a few areas in the hotel that were beginning to look a bit tired. However, I feel a lick of paint and deep cleaning some of the carpets could make a massive difference. |Hotel du Vin is a fabulous chain of hotels and we would highly recommend booking a break with them. |Thank you for a wonderful stay , we hope to return very soon!

We were blown away with our experience at the Hotel DuVin in Harrogate. It has a wonderfully warm entrance that shouts opulence in every area including welcome water on arrival. Gergana KIshneva is wonderful at the front of house. She gave a lot of information as we were new to Harrogate. The room was way beyond our expectations, spotless, comfortable and calming. The hotel has maintained many lovely perks within the room. We have never seen a bath and shower facilities like this!! It made our stay and gave us the relaxation we required. The food in the restaurant is well presented, tasty and enjoyable. We both agreed that this will be a favourite of ours. Many thanks to the breakfast staff this morning and we very much hope to return shortly .

Overall a lovely night away so far.......we still have breakfast to go. Warm, inviting hotel, lovely reception staff and a spacious, clean room with a nice ambience, a few creaky floorboards but it's a beautiful old building so as expected. Had our evening meal here, slight gripe that the waiter who served us, sat us down provided water then disappeared for 20 mins, when we were ready to order, sat with water and no drinks. Jacob the next waiter came to our aid and was the politest most lovely person. It's the Jacobs that save hotels statuses so hope the hotel sees this and realises what a credit he is to your business. Lovely meal, we had Chateaubriand which was beautiful and no other complaints. Jacob thank you for your attentive manner and lovely nature. Kelly & Paul
