I was under the impression that this was a hospital where people went to be rehabilitated following accidents/injuries. I am incredibly disappointed to find that 9 days later, my mother, following a broken hip and two weeks in Addenbrookes, has only had 2.5 hours of physio. She spends 23 hours a day in bed or sitting in a chair in solitary confinement with no company until the limited visiting hours come along. Some of the staff are kind and friendly. The meals are cold when they arrive so even that isn't something to look forward to. Although the place is kept clean and comfortable, the level of rehab is absolutely minimal and my mother has gone downhill from the moment she arrived.

I have MS and have mixed views of Brookfields Hospital. Addenbrooke’s physiotherapist advised me to go there to get back to walking a little after an attack of sever sepsis. I had one session in the gym and i think 2 10 minutes with the untrained, but experienced, assistants on the ward. I have yo admit to bed blocking for the last few days of my 1 week stay but by anystNdards this was not proper physio support. I was licky i had my own wheelchair and could mobilize with that but the other people eith me were mot so lucky.
While i can slam the physio support the ward carers worked patiently with patients to ensure that they mobilized safely and were caring and very patient.
I know that the NHS is broke but in the room we laughed that it was like a hospital from the 70’s. No TV, the internet was dreadful, almost no phone signal, not even radio headphones, which thinking about it I had in the 1960’s.
Genally good staff but shambolic in so many eays.

Last review declined and advised to call PALS but they have not responded to my email.
The rehab here is not non existent, out 5 weeks, one physio session has been beneficial other just ask carers if patient has been mobile.
Now they are pushing my Mum to go home without basics in place. We asked for advice re other options. They said we would have a meeting but it never happened.
It was pointless accepting this rehab place after hospital as rehab has been mostly non existent.

This is rehab place is not great they leave patient in bed most of the time ! A few of the staff are very helpful, but the rest are just so rude and not helpful at all! They don’t communicate with patients family/ next of kin! Worst place ever!

Referred by dentist. Attended, works not carried out - advised to attend Addenbrookes. Charged for consult and never filed or returned paperwork back to my dentist. Lost a lot of time due to lack of professionalism. Confirmed by my dentist practice manager nothing ever received from Brookfields. I called them and asked and they still maintain they’ve sent ‘all records’. Asked for money back and they said no, you need to speak your dentist again. Really dissatisfied.

My wife and I have nothing but praise and admiration for the staff at Brookfields Hospital in Cambridge.

My mother-in-law May Abberley (95) was referred to Brookfields by Addenbrookes Hospital following a fall at home, that stripped her of the confidence to walk without someone to hold onto.
.
Sixteen days later, she is on her way home and has more confidence than she had before the fall.

This dramatic change in her health is down to the dedication, kindness and skills of the nurses and occupational therapists at Brookfields.

We've given you five stars but you deserve ten.

Used to see a Physiotherapist, nice surroundings. More local to me than Addenbrooke's, I was able to cycle there.
