Yes, We returned in September 2024 and we were not disappointed. Service with a smile, shown to our room by a lovely member of staff who was courteous and friendly. |I had a fantastic Spa treatment - followed by a superb evening meal and the next morning by a fantastic breakfast. |As always the hotel and staff make our stay so relaxing and enjoyable - Thank You! ||September 2023 - A return visit, we are always made to feel so welcome. The service is fantastic, the staff are wonderful and the setting beautiful. For one of our evening meals, around the dessert plate, they had piped Happy Anniversary! such a lovely touch. The Spa was great, as was the treatment and staff there. |A pleasant walk into York via the river. Easy access to the Racecourse for a walk around. |We will be returning, always so refreshed after a visit. Thank You!

We stayed for two nights here and loved it. Beautiful historic hotel. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. We showed an interest in the history of the house and staff gave us a tour of the property which was great. We opted for a courtyard room which was lovely and has views over the beautiful gardens.|Great location for visiting York. There is a bus stop right out of the hotel which takes 15 mins into Town.|Dinner was amazing, first class, cannot fault it. Breakfast was equally as good with a good choice available. Service was excellent. |We made use of the spa/swimming pool facilities which we enjoyed.|We would highly recommend here and hope to return.

Had a trip to the lovely Middlethorpe Hall today for Afternoon Tea with friends. It was delicious and did not disappoint. From the staff who were so lovely and attentive to our requests for dietary requirements, to the wonderful surroundings and not to forget, the food! ||We had lashings of Breakfast Tea. A friend who can't drink tea or coffee was given a soft drink without question. The open sandwiches came on mini loaf slices and were divine. The pork, apple and black pudding sausages roll was a huge hit with us all. We could have devoured a whole one if those each!!!! Both cheese and fruit scones were a hit (you could have one or the other) and the sweet treats of lemon posset, strawberry tart and Tirama Choux bun were also yummy. ||I would highly recommend both Middlethorpe Hall for it's relaxed atmosphere and the afternoon tea for its deliciousness. We all agreed that we will be back.

The most quaint gorgeous place so much History and the Gardens are HEAVEN, the Staff are exceptional! Liam, James, even the chairman of the Hotel was porter and showed us to our room who was such a pleasant gentleman , I feel so refreshed after a perfect birthday stay, Thankyou

We booked an overnight stay for our 50th wedding anniversary and asked for a room overlooking the gardens. On arrival we were told we had been upgraded to the White Rose Suite as it was a special occasion . |It was absolutely fabulous , really an apartment with beautiful furnishings and olde worlde luxury. We were amazed that they had taken the trouble to upgrade us. The staff were so welcoming and attentive. |We had dinner in the restaurant that night and both agreed it was the best food we had ever tasted. The staff in the restaurant could not do enough for us and they even gave us champagne before dinner . All in all a very special place which will always be remembered . We hope to visit again maybe for our 60th anniversary ?

A premium price charged for a pretty average accommodation, however is was comfortable and quite clean. Gardens beautifully maintained. Breakfast service very slow and had to ask 4 times for coffee. We sat for a hour before hot breakfast brought to us and then very mediocre in quality.

I've just come back, from a brilliant birthday weekend stay at this beautiful hotel.|The room was really nice, and the staff were great. |The breakfasts that I had were some of the best that I've ever had!|lovely gardens, and surroundings as well. Highly recommend.

Country house style and first class attention to detail and service. If you are looking for a hotel in York(10min by taxi to centre), dont look any further.. |A traditionally decorated drawing room for drinks before dinner which was excellent too…|We stayed in a beautiful room 1 overlooking the main lawn and cedar tree, the bathroom was small but very adequate.|Highly recommend..
