I really enjoyed my afternoon exploring Hartlebury Castle. As someone whom is new to the area, what better way to get acquainted with the locale than to delve into one of the area's most important historic buildings. The staff are friendly and helpful and the information is related to you in numerous ways, with the option of an audio guide should you want one. It is the ideal place to visit on a rainy day. Although there is plenty to do outdoors too - hiking around the grounds, wildlife spotting etc.

Hartlebury Castle is a fascinating gem nestled in the Worcestershire countryside, a place where history and tranquillity blend beautifully. The castle offers a deep dive into centuries of local history, particularly around the role of the bishops who once called it home. The grounds are expansive and well-kept, perfect for a peaceful stroll.

Inside, the exhibits are engaging and informative, with plenty of interactive elements that make history come alive, particularly for children.

The Great Hall is impressive, and you can almost imagine the grand banquets that would have taken place there. There’s also a museum on-site which delves into local history, from archaeology to the social history of the county.

My only complaint is that the cafe service was terrible - I waited 15 minutes in a queue, two staff behind the counter were very slow. I gave up and left.

We attended the fireworks 🎇 spectacular event last night.

We went with one of our grandchildren and joined the throngs of other happy children and adults.

Well organised and a wonderful magical event for all concerned.

Terrific food and great entertainment for young and older alike. Fabulous 10/10

Very nice place to visit. Enjoyable experience for the weekend. The house itself is nice and the grounds allow for a good walk. The bundled museum experience was really fun and made the whole trip a lot more entertaining. Parking was easy and the location accessible.

I visited with my friend, between us we brought our 4 children. There is so much to do, with a lovely walk around the grounds and an adventure playground.
Every staff member we encountered was kind and helpful. The whole visit was set up to be child friendly - the staff in the castle enthusiastically helped our boys locate the faces on the trail.
We also had a great meal in the cafe where again the staff were friendly and helpful.
A really super day out!

I've never been to a Bishop's palace before so wasn't sure what to expect. It didn't disappoint. I knew the church played a big part in the history of the country but never fully realised the extent of that influence. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, and technology is creatively used in the building to inform and educate you. My only small gripe is how long the audio and video aids were. Even I lost interest eventually so there was no way my 8 year old was going to stick it out. She did however love the experience and came away with tons of facts to share. The grounds are large and you can take walks outside or visit the adventure playground. There was ample parking, a lovely gift shop, a cafe and museum and we even got to see a blacksmith at work. We had a picnic in the gardens which was lovely. It was surprisingly empty so we were able to speak to the historians who were excellent. Highly recommended.

Really lovely historical place. Friendly helpful staff. A lot of reading, there was an audio guide, sadly we weren't offered it on this occasion. Beautiful place though. Would visit again. We also went to Hayleys cafe, lovely food and good value.
