Always able to get through on the phone, as the new call back means no waiting in the queue. When needed always able to see a Dr quickly. Every member of staff helpful and caring. Fantastic practice, doing a wonderful job under immense pressure as patient numbers continue to grow with the expansion of housing, and the closure of other practices.

"I usually can't get through to Charlton Medical, but today I did, only to be turned away. After contacting 111, the hospital told us that Charlton needed to see my son within the hour and that emergency appointments were available. When we called Charlton back, we were told that if ShropDoc believed an urgent visit was necessary, it was their responsibility, not Charlton’s. They also claimed ShropDoc couldn’t access their appointment system. This lack of coordination and support is incredibly frustrating, especially when your child's health is at risk. Very disappointed with the service."
Due to this situation, we have no choice but to join the A&E waiting room at PRH at the request of ShropDoc.
Waaaaay to go Charlton, this is why our NHS & Hospital are struggling so much.

P.S - The receptionist was extremely rude !!!

Literally pointless

You call, you get told to call back another time or “walk in” and hope you get seen. Many people work, i cant just “walk in” everyday and wait several hours.

You call back when you are told and the calls are at capacity.

This is exactly why i went private.
My consultant asked me to get a simple blood test, and i cant even get that from this doctors.

Extremely rude staff . I asked a civil question how many people answer the phones as tried non stop for two days wasn't given a reply just an excuse to justify why there so bad .After week before a power cut stopped my appointment and was wrongly told I could still be treated .2 days later got a letter saying I could no longer attend there as I was threating and abusive. So asking a question and telling the truth is wrong.should be ashamed of your selfes.

This is the most horrible GP practice I ever been. They don't listen you, the Dr there think they know everything, they don't reffer you to specialists or for scan even if you go to them with an external reference. In my opinion, this gp should be permanently close, it's absolutely useless and they don't care about patients at all.

Horrible doctor manner with patients, gp says to my partner she isnt ill enough to be signed off sick from work but then goes to say that she really should take time off work to recover straight in the same sentance and that she will just have to take the financial hit from not having sick pay because it shouldnt be on her company to pay for her to be off ill.

Doctor also says she isnt allergic to what we know she is even though she has all the symptons of being allergic, gp then turns around and says that your not allergic to what you know it is but we wont test to see what your allergic to as its not worth finding out.

Worse attitude i've come across from someone whos literall job is to help people not tell them to just deal with it.

The staff themselves are very pleasant, however the telephone/booking system needs a great deal of work.
I have just spent 45 minutes on hold to be told there are no more appointments available.

Once all appointments have been booked an automated telephone system needs to put in place letting people know all appointments for that morning/afternoon have been taken and they need to ring back in the afternoon or next day or continue to hold to speak to a receptionist.

I don’t think it’s acceptable for patients to be on hold for nearly an hour and then pretty much dismissed once they finally get through to someone.

3rd edit 36 calls in 1 minute and "all of our agents are currently busy" no wonder A&E is clogged, local doctors can't even see you!

2nd Edit. On the NHS website for leaving feedback, the reviews are all the same dated for a flu clinic giving an inflated positive score for this practice, I have been back again and again in the past 12 months and feel ignored when I finally get through. I'm searching for a new practice. Looking to move whole family.

I usually cut slack to any NHS based place, but I agree with other comments in here, I would rather be call 50 in the queue than try and try again to make it into the 10 person queue.

I know they will say they want to keep patient cost down by not being on hold, but do they realise when you call from a mobile it is "up to 1 minute" so just connecting and listening to the pre amble to be told I can't get through is costing minutes, the same as if someone calls from a landline, the fact I've been connected to your system costs money and time so therefore just make it a 50 person queue and save ALL PATIENTS the hassle and dismay of trying to obtain an appointment.

If the amount of appointments available are only say 30, make the queue 30.

Once you get an appointment it is an OK surgery, but getting there is a pain.

EDIT.

Had a missed call off the surgery, no message left, tried to call back, option 2 is at capacity, option 1 its not an emergency. Option 3 they only work 5 hours a day, 10 till 1 then 2 till 4.

Leave a voicemail or don't call at all, not wasting money calling you lot back.
