The system in place here at the GP practice is not fit for purpose.
You phone the practice at 8am to be told you are no 30 in the queue how can this be?
You are then on hold working your way through the queue.
When your call finally gets answered after having been on hold in a queue for over an hour you are then told there are no appointments. How is this a system that supports its patients ?
Tried the online triage no luck with that either.
System down or reached its full capacity within less than an hour of opening.
Patients have absolutely no chance of ever seeing a GP on a face to face appointment.
Went to my local pharmacy for advise condition was confirmed by pharmacist who then advised phone your GP practice and ask them to provide this medication on prescription.
Followed this advise to be told by GP receptionist that I needed to go online and fill in a online triage which as I’ve mentioned earlier is a complete and utter waste of people’s time.
You are advised to avoid going to A n E and wherever possible to visit your local pharmacy for advise but unfortunately this advise is then not acted upon.
No wonder A n E departments are run off their feet, there are no beds and patients are in corridors waiting for hours and hours waiting to be seen.
Also this week I was sent an online link for a health check but guess what that system doesn’t work either and has reached maximum capacity and the advise on that link asks you to phone the practice.
I fail to comprehend how the practice can think that this is an acceptable system and an appropriate system for its patients.
What are GP’s actually doing because they are not seeing and caring for their patients.
Patient care at this practice I’m afraid no longer exists.
This system you have in place is BROKEN
and NOT fit for purpose something needs to change PROMPTLY.
I really feel the practice deserves 0 stars but unfortunately this is not an option so I’ve had to reluctantly rate it 1 star.

I have to say my experience today has been excellent. I completed the online triage first thing this morning and had a face to face appointment two hours later, just wanted to share my experience.

This practice was excellent but has changed unfortunately since moving to the new building.
Today had a telephone appointment after 10 am by phone and waited and waited but no call. This appointment had already been changed from previous one by the surgery. Spoke to a lady on enquiries and advised someone would be in touch later. Again no call from something called recall team. (Must make it up as they go along).
So rang again and no explanation why the appointment was cancelled and yet again advised someone would ring me. It’s after 5 pm and nothing.
Surely in the modern age of technology a simple text or email could have been sent advising of the situation. Also could have used NHS App. Unfortunately that doesn’t get updated either by the surgery.
So despair that things with the practice have gone from bad to worse and my day has been spent sat on a phone and still no answers as to why my appointment never happened
Get your act together

Poor before you have even booked an appointment. On their website, on their appointments page... is several paragraphs about appointments running over time, some of which is written quite unprofessionally... "Do not say (or even think!) ”I don’t attend the surgery very often so I’ve saved up my complaints”. How passive aggressive is that for a family health centre?! I think we all know that the luxury of relying on a GP appointment under this government have been absolutely destroyed, and we also know that a lot of OAPs abuse this service as a "something to do" outlet rather than a GP's office. But, I couldn't believe what I was reading. They are actually suggesting that two things which you may need to raise to your GP probably means two appointments. So effectively...pick which one is more pressing in your, non medical opinion, even if it means neglecting something which...for all we know...could be life threatening?!

"Mentioning more than two conditions will be viewed as lacking in consideration for the doctor and for patients waiting to come in later."

Unreal.

Tried to book an appointment on-line but couldn’t because the on- line service had been closed by the practice at lunchtime. Rang reception to book an appointment waited for ages in the queueing system to be told there were no appointments. This service is failing the local people that rely on it, there appears to be a total lack of care or compassion anywhere. Is it that costs have come before caring and the accountants have took over. I have witnessed the slow decline on what used to be a great service. Time to change those in-charge I think.

Absolute joke. Don't even bother trying. You have to do a form between 8 and 9.30am to then get an appointment in 3weeks time. This country has gone down hill that much. No wonder A&E departments are overcrowded and hospital beds are full to bursting.
