I have not been terribly impressed with the surgery in recent times, other than with diabetic nurse Liz. However the service I received yesterday from receptionist Danielle was exemplary and delivered with such a lovely demeanour. I was also thrilled to receive a phone call within 2 hours of an online request being made from a Dr new to me, Dr Morais. He listened intently and carefully to my diabetic tablet woes and formulated a plan for the future once he received my blood results. Having suffered severely for 2 months, I felt care emanating from both Danielle and Dr Morais yesterday and my mood lifted. With my thanks

Have been under Ashton Medical Group’s care for about a year now. Easy registration. Online medical requests make life easier and I often get seen quickly. All the healthcare professionals I have encountered were skilful, professional, supportive and patient. Spending time to understand my symptoms and explore different treatment options. Regular phone check-ins for long term conditions.
For many surgeries, the reception is usually the least impressive part, but the receptionist here was very nice, polite and helpful with the documentation and tools i needed.
For the blood test, I was very impressed how precise they did it because it normally takes 2-4 try to get it done. Highly recommend. Best GP surgery I have been with so far.

It seems like most places in Tameside and Glossop Health Care NHS systems ,the few and far between people that can display an ounce of competence, attention to detail, medical knowledge that is current, care and respect for captive patients be placed on special list much like the CITES one. After all being tret like an undereducated degenerate troglodike that has been trying since Nov 2024, to actually obtain a CORRECT repeat prescription from a Consultant based NHS service is now beyond my level of expectation. My level was at 0 having been transferred from Denton Medical Practice (minus 5). Keep going, yes just keep going, maybe when we left without Dr's that are not greedy and emigrated, that don't hide behind the justification for renumaration under the banner of ' in the interest of patient care" will I give now an ounce of dignity, respect and self control. My gloves are considered to be off. Im too exhausted to use your complaints procedures as even after that route the level of excremental beauraucatic propaganda has made me to try attempt to even use my toes to block my ears ! I'm not going to read a response as have taken my gloves off to try and find my glasses my hands are clean. Also, don't patronise me with a comment that you 'concerned for my mental health'. You've tired to use that as excuse too.
So, people of Tameside if you are there, still living, still have some form of mental constitution left from the care we recieve in Tameside Zoos area put on your straight jacket, helmet and muzzle and choice your poison. Try jump up an down and maybe you can go to the hospital. One of which has a new multi million dollar improved viewing window where you can be observed sliding of the new chairs. Be careful as you might fall and break something. Don't worry they will do scans etc and say you Normal and send you home after your probably minimum 4 hours seat warming activity, taken your bloods viscously, blamed the lab for delays, then forgotten a blood test and finally be told by a "Dr' they can't do much for you and go back to your GP for treatment. I've decided to call my sevice " 'Tameside Population Control". Should see their mission statements, much like the great science fiction film epics. This will put a smile, cheer you up to a euphoric level so you can still be polite to that very rare, yes very rare golden NHS zoo keeper. Be observant they work on so many levels of hierarchy. The Gatekeepers (Primary Human Interface Facllitotor) can be and often are the best.

Been with Ashton medical group a number of years, when I had my son I registered him here. Since the merge it has been impossible to get an appointment face to face. Me and my son end up at a&e majority of the time for there walk in service as a GP cannot see to him quick enough. Or we get told to wait 2 days by an online consultation. They will only ring for a face to face if you are needed to be seen otherwise your sat glued to your phone all day Incase you miss a call off them.

I’ve had 2 bouts of pneamuia in the past 2 years what have had to be treated by a&e because the doctors have not been quick enough to prescribe antibiotics. They seem to have a rule of waiting till you get worse to actually prescribe antibiotics.

My son is also autistic and getting his medication is appalling, you can be waiting for days for a GP to sign it off.

Receptionists don’t have up to date training, got told ages ago you can’t bring your own samples in a container yet another receptionist said I could? Which one is it? Did a complaint and no one bothered to get back in touch with me.

When my son has had his diagnoses I will be moving GP for him and myself. Most Gp can offer a same day appointment when rang, the online consultation is to much messing about for anyone - especially the elderly.

Hopefully some improvements will be made in the next upcoming months but I can hardly see this.

I rang surgery on afternoon of Friday 17th January to request a form to take up to the hospital for bloodwork. It’s quicker that way. In the past when I have made this request I have been told that a message will be sent to relevant GP/person and I would usually get message within 24 hours/48hours to say it is ready to collect. Result!
This time I was told that I had to fill in an administrative form online. I explained how it had been done in the past and was grudgingly told that they would see what they could do. Not the most helpful/receptive receptionist I have spoken to.
On Tuesday morning, January 21 I received a message to say that the surgery had got my request and it could take 48 hours to deal with.
Now, afternoon of Wednesday January 22nd and still waiting for a piece of paper.
I do not need to see a GP. When I do I will fill in an online form and wait my turn. I just want a piece of paper with bloodwork request to take up to the hospital

I have just supported my mum to collect a specimen bottle for further tests as she's been very unwell for over a month. The receptionist had a face like she was sucking lemons and a cannot be bothered attitude. My mum stated the GP had also requested blood samples to be taken when we spoke to the receptionist she gave a date over two weeks away, when she was told that mum could not wait that long due to how long she has already been unwell she then sighed however she then found one at another practice for tomorrow? Why this was not offered first, i do not know.
Advice when working with the public, especially elderly if you want respect, you first have to show it.

The cheek to say leave a review. Abysmal incompetent service. Certain reception staff cannot even manage a form for a sample pot, let alone a smile. God forbid if you are waiting for an important result from the doctor. As a health care service you are making peoples blood pressure sky high. Disgusted as someone who also works in health care and knows the pressures that come with it and unfair reviews. Trust me this review is light.

I had too wait three weeks for a telephone appointment spent the time in the appointment describing my difficulties only to be told... , ("oh! I feel you need to come in for a face-to-face appointment"), I feel it must have been a real laugh for the surgery collective. I realise that being of a certain age zone I am taking rather than producing and as such I should be prepared to be at the end of the line.
