Excellent service. I contacted the surgery today regarding a repeat prescription for my adult son who has epilepsy medication and had not recrived his prescription. The receptionist was very polite and arranged for an emergency script to be stranded for his medication to be delivered today. We have been with this doctors for a year and the support and politeness from the reception staff has made a very nice difference from our previous Doctors, not had difficulty seeing a doctor when requested.

Went to the walk-in centre after a car crash and saw a nurse practitioner (Paul). He was brilliant and made me and my partner smile after a poor day. Very rare but much appreciated!!

Over a week ago I tried to book an appointment to see/talk to a Dr.
No telephone appointments for non emergency matters for 8 weeks.
I used the online contact form. Outlining my issue, what steps I had already taken and what I wanted the practice to do for me. I.e. onward referral or investigation.
That was a week ago. I have not had any contact from the practice
I telephoned today after the morning rush. I was on hold for over 20 minutes. My call was not answered, instead I was left as 'caller number 2' for 20 minutes.
Extremely poor service.
What is the point of online contact if I am ignored. My only option is to clog up the system and book an appointment at 8am.

Trying to get an emergency appointment as an adult at this practice is impossible! No matter if you ring at 8am or 3pm! I’ve ended up with secondary infections, a chest infection coughing green sputum up and tonsillitis with pus all down the right side of my throat following covid. I have barely eaten for 7 days because I did the ‘self care’ thing, I have severe cold sweats, nausea, dizziness etc Rang at 8:05 this morning to be out in the automated que which rang me back at 8:55 to be told no appointments. Due to having anaemia I have a weakened immune system which leaves me extremely poorly and vulnerable. I am also epileptic and more prone to seizures when I am run down and have a high temperature. Your receptionists just give a generic response of ‘Sorry, no appointments ring back at 8am’ I have had to register as a temporary resident at my own place of work just to get treatment which is quite frankly disgusting! This has been my GP since birth so why do I have to put strain on my bosses or the emergency services because you can’t provide adequate care! It is unfair to patients and other services that your surgery expects patients who are acutely unwell to wait or keep ringing day after day to be told the same thing. Management seriously need to start rethinking how that surgery runs because you are failing patients time and time again!

We moved a year ago and didn't know the area well but decided to go with this practice. Our last doctors was terrible and you could never get an appointment, even for our children and we thought all doctors surgery's were like this. We are so glad we moved to ilex medical practice. The reception staff are polite and helpful, the nurse my daughter saw for her immunisations was brilliant and the doctor is fantastic and most importantly seems to care. If all doctors surgery's were like this one, we would all be happy with our level of care.

Worst doctors surgery. Beyond a joke. Came for my daughter's appt at 940 with three kids in tow. The doctor gave me a prescription for a cream that has been discontinued. I went back up to the reception and they assured me they would send the prescription directly to the pharmacy downstairs while I went to the shops for 40 mins. It hadn't been sent down. I had to go back up again and wait 30 mins with one sick child who just wanted to get home and rest. Absolutely no apologies from the staff. Just casually gave me the new prescription and said "if this doesn't work , come back up" after being there for nearly 2 hours. No apology or acknowledgement of the fact that I was still waiting for the prescription 2 hours later. I know it was a mistake but little bit of empathy goes a long way. All someone would have to have said was "I understand you are frustrated, I can only apologise."

I will be making a complaint reference my experience on going for a covid jab on Saturday 23rd September. As I was waiting in a queue for 55 minutes to be told as i got to the desk that because I wasn't registered there that I could not have my covid jab even though I'm extremely vulnerable. Icould not have it even though i had my last 3 jabs there . I had to leave and go home. I was told by a nurse at Irwel medical place that I could attend Ilex as a walk in.

Rang in the mid afternoon as I was suffering a gout flare up, the receptionist was extremely helpful searching my records for the medication I had be prescribed over 3 years ago during my last episode. She ensured a call back, not only did I get this but they sent my prescription directly to the pharmacy for pick up. I am fortunate to be in good health, but anytime I've needed their services all the staff, receptionists, nurses and doctors at Illex View have been excellent 👍🏻
