Cheltenham Running Club is awesome. I started doing the C25K with them, progressed onto 10k and have just done my first half marathon. The team spirit is amazing, everyone is so friendly. The coaching is sensible and aimed at running injury free. There are yoga classes, strength classes, nutritional information and physios on hand. Best thing I ever did was to join the club!

I turned 40 in 2017 and decided I needed to focus on my health. I had smoked until my early 30s, so was far from fit. I had failed at running on my own, so gave Cheltenham Running Club a go. I found everyone really friendly and soon completed a 10k and the Cheltenham Half marathon.

I've run some more races in 2018 and my times have improved, so I must be getting fitter. Thanks to my running buddies and to Conor Graham for his coaching! This is a club for all abilities .. give it a go!

The members of the group are so supportive of each other, from the first time runners to the marathon runners. We are coached by Conor Graham who gently challenges ,encourages you to go further, do better . You make new friends. There are Facebook groups within the club to keep you in touch with your part of the club. I’m doing the c25k, I’ve never been a runner before, but been a member of club for 3+ months now.

Just into week 3/10 (plus having done the intro week sessions) of the couch to 5K! Having tried and failed in the past, Conor and the whole group are doing a great job at helping achieve what I thought wouldn’t be possible. For someone who did no exercise, I feel a lot fitter already. I am enjoying running, getting out with the fresh air and the lovely group make it fun and Conor is a great coach.

Cheltenham Running Club got me started as a couch potato in January 2016. Aged 68, very unfit and mobility impaired by sciatica. I proved that age and lack of fitness was no barrier, as staring off slowly got moving again, and was soon moving up the pace groups. Weight came off, sciatica improved, and in the same year ticked off 5 K, , 10 K, and Half Marathon. More importantly, I was making friends in a wonderfully supportive atmosphere, where we each celebrate the achievements of others.

Move on 3 years, and I have just undergone 6 months of chemotherapy for bowel cancer. However, from the moment of being admitted to hospital my only thought was getting back to fitness and training with the running club, without this goal I could easily have sunk into depression. During my chemo still felt connected and involved with the running club through Facebook, and supporting members at events.

Can't think of any other club which offers such support whether you're looking to do Couch 2 5K or a Half Marathon. Really friendly club.
