Popped into the Harold Hill branch today to get my glasses repaired. Charlotte and Sally sorted the issues out for me wile having a bit of banter. Great girls and so nice to still find people with a happy faces and great attitude towards customers. Cheers Girls 10/10.

Refused responsibility, exhibited ignorance, malpractice, and greed.

After discovering a mistake in my prescription, following an NHS eye test, the clinic initially refused responsibility on a call on the 14th of February. They shifted it to the dispensing optician claiming, "the dispensing optician takes on the prescription".

During my second call, I was told, "an issue in prescription is a non-tolerance issue" referencing the back of the prescription (see picture). Not only has the statement on the card been altered against the wishes of The College of Optometrists [1], but purposefully misinterpreted on my call (it would be alarming if an optician didn't know the difference between prescribing and dispensing and comical if they couldn’t see the guidance they have chosen to ignore).

I was also told that if I had gotten my frames from their clinic, they would have checked my lenses and my prescription. This strongly implied an obligation to purchase glasses, for an accurate eye test, going against the previously misquoted guidance [1]. I decided to go elsewhere and received a significantly more accurate prescription from Specsavers on the 15th.

Although I was offered an eye test later that day (the bare minimum) it's a shame I had to fight for this. I wasn't offered an apology or acknowledgment of error/misinformation and due to my previous disappointing call will not visit Eye Clinic Opticians Harold Hill in the foreseeable future. I recommend avoiding this clinic for anyone concerned about their eyesight, not only may it cost you an arm and a leg, but your eyes too.

Had an appointment booked for today. Was told the optician was running slightly late. 25 minutes later I still had not been seen. Neither one of the receptionist could even tell me how much longer the optician would be, so I ended up walking out. Should have gone to specsavers.
